Il punto d'incontro è al molo di Tha Chang, di fronte al Grand Palace
Lo scintillante Grand Palace di Bangkok è una meraviglia architettonica che un tempo fu dimora dei re della dinastia Chakri. Una visita all'ornato e storico Gran Palazzo, e all'adiacente Tempio del Buddha di Smeraldo, è un punto culminante di qualsiasi visita al Regno. Il palazzo fu costruito nel 1782 dal Rama I, il primo re della dinastia Chakri, quando spostò la capitale di quello che allora era conosciuto come il Regno del Siam da Thonburi sulla riva occidentale del fiume Chao Phraya a Bangkok sulla riva orientale. Per 150 anni il palazzo è stato la casa del re thailandese. Oggi, il complesso rimane il cuore spirituale del Regno Thai. Wat Pho è uno dei templi più antichi della capitale thailandese. È anche uno dei più grandi complessi di templi di Bangkok e ha la più grande collezione di immagini di Buddha in Thailandia. Wat Pho mantiene il titolo di primo centro di istruzione pubblica del paese, specializzato in religione, scienza e letteratura. La maggior parte delle immagini del Buddha esposte sono state portate a Wat Pho, per ordine del re Rama I, dai templi abbandonati di Ayutthaya e Sukhothai. E naturalmente visiterai il Buddha sdraiato, una delle più grandi statue di Buddha in Thailandia. Un soggiorno nella capitale thailandese non è completo senza visitare Wat Arun, il Tempio dell'Alba, uno dei monumenti più famosi di Bangkok. Dopo la caduta di Ayutthaya, re Taksin stabilì qui un palazzo reale e un tempio per ospitare il Buddha di Smeraldo. Il tempio prende il nome dal dio indiano dell'alba, Aruna. Fu solo quando la capitale e il Buddha di Smeraldo furono spostati a Wat Phra Kaew sul lato di Bangkok che Wat Arun ricevette la sua caratteristica più importante: il prang (torre in stile Khmer) alto 82 metri. Wat Arun è decorato con mosaici floreali decorati realizzati con porcellana Cinese rotta, un ornamento comune del tempio nel primo periodo Rattanakosin, quando le navi Cinesi che facevano scalo nel porto di Bangkok utilizzavano tonnellate di porcellana vecchia come zavorra. - Il traffico di Bangkok può essere fortemente congestionato. Poiché i nostri tour si svolgono su base di gruppo, possiamo attendere un massimo di 10 minuti dopo l'orario di incontro previsto. Dopo questo periodo di tolleranza, la Guida inizierà il tour. Se non riuscite ad arrivare in tempo, fatecelo sapere prima dell'inizio del tour. - I nostri tour operano pioggia o sole, poiché le piogge tropicali in Thailandia di solito non durano a lungo. Se piove forte, cerchiamo di cercare riparo e continueremo non appena il tempo migliorerà. Durante la stagione delle piogge, è una buona idea portare un impermeabile o un poncho. Nice tour in the historic center of Bangkok, a lot to see and an enthusiastic tour guide, also a lot to learn
Ken, our guide, gave a great overview of the history of each of the sites before entering. He was friendly and personable, and this tour was a GREAT way to start our trip in Bangkok. These temples are a must-see in Bangkok, and we would’ve been overwhelmed doing it on our own. (We also avoided being accosted by lots of other independent guides by being in our small group of ten!)
Our guide is very knowledgeable. However, she did not manage the time well, so we only get to see 1/2 of the Wha Pho. And pretty much rushed our way to the third stop. I was quite disappointed of not seeing the entire ground of Wha Pho. Need to improve the time management. A bit less on detailed history lesson. We just need to have a short summary so we can cover more ground.
Amazing trip. The guide P Ken was the highlight of the entire trip. He was very patient, friendly and supportive throughout the tour. We were lucky to have a great group to be on tour with. Would definitely recommend the tour to anyone coming first time to Thailand.

Great architecture and amazing landscape terrible guided and expensive tour through Tripadvisor! Local guide couldn’t speak English and was clueless; 6 people booked up 4 dropped off less than mid way as it was so disappointing, 130 bucks for two adults through Tripadvisor; the entry fees and charges to the royal palaces which you could have gotten for 20 USD on the door on the day would have been a far better option; and a hand held device in the language of your choice which would have been preferable and more convenient. Do your own thing and make sure you wear long trousers out of courtesy and respect in the temples.
