Excellent experience - so much fun. Never kayaked that far and the guides were great. I’ve walked the cinque terra - so was wonderful to see from the water. Highly recommend - no crowds on the water
Our three hour kayak tour was a terrific experience and was a great way to see the colorful coastal towns of Monterosso and Vernazza! Lydia, our main guide, helped us with our basic kayaking skills and navigation so that we felt safe and were able to optimize the fun in our adventure. She narrated natural and manmade points of interest like sea caves and fortresses and paddled at our pace. The weather and waves were mild and perfect for paddling out for a morning of sightseeing. We were able to get out and have some gelato in Vernazza before rowing back and receiving some entertaining knowledge about the marine life in the area - like sardines, sea tomatoes, algae, and plankton from Alizia, our other guide. We had three adults of varying ages and a teen on two tandem kayaks, and we all had a wonderful time - it ended up just being our family on the tour. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to be active and see the sights in Cinque Terre or in Portofino, since Lydia provides tours there too. Molto Bene!
Daniele and Lily were the perfect hosts! They were full of knowledge of the area, very tuned into our needs and shortcomings (two older women with only some kayak experience), and answered all of our questions with thoughtful, complete answers. You might learn since farming has taken a down turn in Cinque Terre, wildlife, including Italian wolves, is making a comeback. The weather was perfect, the company was perfect, the wine was perfect. Enchanted afternoon!
The scenery is just outrageously stunning. We loved seeing a different view of the towns. The secret swimming cove was delightful. A++ experience. With a lovely suprise at the end!
The activity was well run and very enjoyable with a very helpful and informative guide. The stop for a swim and glass of wine was a lot of fun. It was great to see the coast from a different perspective.
The kayaking journey is about 2.5 hours in the sun so definitely prepare accordingly. That being said, the views are unbelievable and the guide (Andrea) was amazing and informative. You explore small cave systems and tiny inlets. This is definitely one of the highlights of the area. You will stop in Vernazza for around 20-30 minutes and then return to Monterosso after that. Wear sunscreen and bring a hat!
We ended up being the only people on the trip, so we got a private tour. Our guide Daniele was very knowledgeable and friendly. The kayak was sit-on, so it was quite stable even with the waves and boat wakes. It is a unique way to experience the Cinque Terre and get away from the hustle and bustle of the towns! Highly recommend.
The guide was really nice and helpful, however, the kayaks were uncomfortable. We saw the other tour had cushions on their kayaks we had nothing. Furthermore, the tour description claims you'll see Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, and Guvano Beach. That wasn't the case. We went to Vernazza only. We paid extra to do this tour as opposed to another cheaper option based on the tour description/info, but that info was misleading so we felt the tour was really not worth the price. The tour operator should update the description for their tour as this is misleading for the buyers. Also in the beginning, the guide said he only had 2 single kayaks and one tandem so two of us would have to kayak together and only gave us the option of getting another single kayak when we insisted that we didn't want to ride on a tandem kayak. 2 stars for the nice views and sweet guide but unfortunately I cannot give more because of all the issues mentioned above. I hope the tour operator takes these notes into consideration for a better tour for others in the future and better transparency with the buyers. Thanks!
Chiara was an amazing guide. She told us about Monterosso’s history, took us to some of the most beautiful places along the coastline and allowed us to do some cliff jumping!!!
The tour was really fun. Daniele was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and gave really good, easy to follow directions. Seeing the villages from the water was an awesome experience. I wish we had more than just the three hours!
