Itinerario
Ci dirigiamo verso Bronte Country, con la tua guida turistica che ti racconta la storia e le caratteristiche della zona mentre attraversi Marston Moor, attraversi la tradizionale città mercantile di Wetherby e vedi lo spettacolare viadotto di Arthington sul fiume Wharfe.
La nostra prima tappa è al Bingley Five Rise Locks, dove vedrai il più alto blocco delle scale nel Regno Unito, una spettacolare impresa di ingegneria costruita nel 1774 come parte del Canale di Leeds e Liverpool. Puoi esplorare e fotografare le serrature funzionanti, o semplicemente goderti una piacevole birreria dello Yorkshire e immergerti nell'atmosfera locale nel vicino caffè - a te la scelta!
Lasciamo Bingley per il breve viaggio verso la nostra fermata principale a Haworth, ai margini delle aspre Pennine Moors, dove la famiglia Bronte visse dal 1820 e le sorelle scrissero i loro famosi romanzi, per una pausa pranzo di due ore. Puoi visitare il Bronte Parsonage Museum e la Bronte Memorial Chapel nella vicina Chiesa dove predicò il padre, o semplicemente esplorare i negozi caratteristici sulla strada principale acciottolata e pranzare tranquillamente in uno dei caffè tradizionali: a te la scelta!
Lasciamo Haworth e ci dirigiamo verso Penistone Hill per una sosta fotografica per ammirare le vedute della brughiera verso Top Withens, dove le sorelle Bronte hanno camminato per prendere ispirazione prima di dirigerci a nord per il nostro pomeriggio nello Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Arriverete nel pittoresco e tradizionale villaggio di Dales di Linton, dove ci fermeremo per le fotografie di Linton Falls prima di continuare il nostro viaggio attraverso il Parco Nazionale.
La principale fermata pomeridiana è presso l'Abbazia di Bolton, dove l'ingresso è gratuito e sarai in grado di esplorare la Chiesa del Priorato e le rovine del Priorato Agostiniano del XII secolo nella sua splendida cornice sul fiume, o magari affrontare la sfida dei trampolini se ti senti più avventuroso !
Lasciamo l'abbazia di Bolton per continuare il nostro viaggio attraverso le vallate di ritorno verso York, passando per Harrogate e imparando un po 'la storia di questa famosa città termale.

The sceneries of Yorkshire dales are spectacular! We all enjoyed the trip tremendously. Mark, our excellent driver and tour guide, was very dedicated. He made extra efforts to maximize what we could see during the 8-hour tour. Absolutely worthwhile!

What a lovely day with Chris, our driver! He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and patient with us when we took a bit of extra time for lunch and photos.

Charlotte Brontë has a special place in my heart. It was so special for me to visit her home. It really was like stepping into her life. On top of that, we visited the classic Yorkshire town of Grassington for a cuppa. Our guide, Chris, knew this area and was extremely informative and accommodating. Great day.

I loved the little farms separated by hedges and typical scenes out of storybooks, sheep...even experienced the Yorkshire traffic jam of sheep. Wonderful host and a great tour for mobility reduced people. They need a portable step for the van though. That first step up makes it very hard for short or people with mobility issues to get into the van. Easy pick up spot in the city and good long tour. At the end of the day I felt like I had seen it all. Such a knowledgeable and experienced guide, sadly I don't remember his name...unless it was Bob himself. Lots of good stops and good long bathroom breaks so we never felt rushed

Let me preface this by saying I love Viator and have had many wonderful experiences with them. This time we Toured the parsonage at Haworth and explored the Yorkshire dales. This has been a lifelong dream to visit the home of the Brontes and see the moors. It was a beautiful day. Unfortunately, the regular driver had a medical emergency and we had a substitute driver. He was lovely but didn't know much about the Brontes. Still a great day but I feel I would've learned more with the regular driver so that was a bit of a disappointment for an expensive private tour. I understand emergencies can't be helped but perhaps a backup who is more familiar with the tour or a price cut? Nevertheless, it was wonderful to see Haworth.
Howard was our guide. He was awesome and the best. Funny, kind, informative, and he made the trip wonderful. We loved his sense of humor and he was so knowledgeable of the area. This was an amazing day. Highly recommended!
Now utterly understandable why Yorkshire is called "God's own country". Fabolous tour brilliantly explained. Punctual, excellent & considerate driving. Mark is a top class guide, and the service from the beginning with BOBH great. Thank you BOBH folks for making 2 of my 5 day holiday so very good. (But be warned: you are encouraged to eat ice cream...). Every detail that I could have asked for in a day out was 5*. I suggest you book any of their tours well in advance.

A wonderful day out to Haworth Parsonage, returning via beautiful Bolton Abbey. Our driver Howard was punctual, charming, knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed showing off this beautiful part of the world. Would book for similar without hesitation.

I was the only person who had booked this day trip because of going at the very end of November ie right at the end of the season. Mark, the guide and driver was excellent: very knowledgeable and concerned about my comfort. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to go to Haworth and beyond from York.
