We had a wonderful tour with Ahmed, who went out of his way to provide us with London history en route to Windsor Castle. He was professional and courteous and ensured that we were comfortable for the journey. If you book a tour, be sure to ask for him!
The Viator description of the tour to Windsor Castle was misleading in that the guide took you to Windsor and return without including the tickets for entering Windsor. The Viator Windsor tour was handled primarily by Windsor personnel after buying the tickets which was the bulk of the tour time. The tour guide did provide a short ride through and overview of Eton and information during travel to/from Windsor. He did his best to make the tour good, even though the primary activity/description was done by the Windsor Castle ticket.
Beautiful castle, oh so many people to see it. Very crowded, but worth it. We used a private driver. Highly recommend this as the town is packed to the gills. I suspect trains and busses were too.
Ahmed was absolutely amazing! He was so knowledgeable and he was definitely one of the best and we’ve traveled all over the world.
This is a total waste of money. You are limited to two hours in Windsor/Windsor Castle. You can take an Uber at a fraction of the price and spend as much time as you want in Windsor. And it is just as easy. Simply a waste of money.
The trip was part of our Caledonian Tour while staying at the Europa Gatwick we left about 9.30 headed to Windsor I’ve been before but many many years ago hasn’t changed it still grabs you when you see the castle and all the bustle of people walking about we done a trip on the Thames it was so interesting getting told all about the history of the area had a few small beers but the best was a G&T at the Castle Hotel I always go there and just people watch 10/10
Ahmed was an incredible tour guide!!! He has a wealth of knowledge about British and world history and even more about the city of London. We learned so much from him during our roundtrip to Windsor Castle. One of our favorite parts was taking a detour through Runnymeade and seeing where the Magna Carta was signed. Would recommend Ahmed for any London tour guide.
Due to a misunderstanding; our driver left us in Windsor. Viator refunded half of the charge. We road the express train home.

<p>This was an independent trip and was driven by a private driver. We were on our own and had about 2 hours to explore and see the palace. There was really no time for anything more than that. While we appreciated the comfort of riding in a car, we were disappointed with the driver's contribution to this trip. He had very little to say and mostly complained that the company he worked for should have told us to be ready for pick up at 9 am instead of 10 am. It was obviously and inconvenience for him and he went on and on about his unhappiness with this. Made us feel nervous as though we had done something wrong when in fact it was his company that made this determination - not ours. Do not expect to have a leisurely stroll around Windsor - you will need to be ready to go and reviewing the castle grounds and what you want to see before hand will be helpful. Also, if you can preorder your entry tickets, it will be helpful and shave off precious time.</p>
