So much fun! My driver, Seta, arrived at my hostel at the given pick up time. I was a bit nervous about the drop down to the cave as I hadn’t done this type of activity before but Seta was able to instil confidence in me to go ahead with it, as he is an experienced climber and has done the cave himself many times! They paired me up with another solo traveller and drop was actually really calm and not scary at all. Walking inside the cave to the heavenly light was easy since they gave us gum boots beforehand, and the path is clear with stepping stones. The photographer in the cave was happy to take many photos for me too!

After such a great experience at Borobudur, we privately booked Atok again to visit Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave and he delivered once again. From coordinating timings to organising tickets and walking us through each step of the day, everything was handled seamlessly. These experiences can be quite logistically complex, but Atok made it feel simple and stress-free. Beyond that, his local knowledge and sense of humour made the day genuinely enjoyable. It didn’t feel like a transaction, it felt like we were being looked after by someone who genuinely cared about the experience. Amazing experience! The descent was exciting, guides were professional, and the “light of heaven” view was absolutely stunning. Well organized, safe, and totally worth it when visiting Jogja. The cave is such a unique natural wonder in Indonesia, and the whole trip was well coordinated. Staffs on-site guided us all the way, like lighting paths, preventing slips, and helping with photos. Big thanks to our guide Brian, he was super helpful, on time, and friendly.

The trip I booked was together with the private day tour to Timang. My guide Imam Febrian was very helpful and forthcoming from the moment he met me at the airport for pick up. Absolutely amazing trip, exceeding any expectations! It's a full day adventure, definitely worth taking - if you have to choose a single thing to do around Yogyakarta, this is exactly what you should really consider. Be sure to ask for Arief - best guide in southeastern Asia. He will share numerous hints and recommendations with you, take you to some extra places, tell you stories and explain everything you want. He also speaks perfect English, is extremely patient and fully competent.

Such an amazing and seamless experience! Was picked up by Antoni from my hostel who was communicative and timely (he even offered to take pictures for me during the excursion) and got to trek down to see the cave light. I’m not sure if you can do something like this anywhere else in the world but this was insanely cool and a safe experience. It is very muddy down there so walk slowly and don’t wear clothes you particularly care about. The tour guides are great at taking pictures and keeping everyone safe.

It was my first time booking a tour guide for a visit and I regret nothing, it was such a wonderfull day with Ardhan. He is a really great person and tour guide. He told me so much about the local indonesian culture and was really helpfull in so many ways ! I'm used to do visit alone and when you do that, you have to thing about all the organisation and that can be stressfull. But with Ardhan I knew I could count on him if I needed something, so I could completely relax and focus on enjoying my day. He took care of everything with the visiting sites and explained to me what to expect and do. The bonus point was because of the slightly earlier picking time than the other touring at my hotel, I was the first person on Mont Merapi for the sunrise. It was so great to be alone at the top without a noise or another group, really peacefull and I got the best points of view for pictures. The Jomblang cave was really exceptional and the guides on site take care of everyone (it was slippery so they helped and checked with everyone if everything is okay) and take pictures and videos for each person and were so much fun to talk to. You don't want to miss the pindul cave with the Oyo river after. It was really relaxing at the end of the tour and the landscape was phenomal with multiple small waterfall during the descent (Oyo River). If I come back in Yogyarta and need a guide, it will be him for sure !

Anton is a good tour guide. We have wonderful & memorable experience in this tour. It is best for you to engage him. You need to overcome the fear to go down but once you did, its a whole new world below.
