Questa imponente struttura, parte di un ambizioso progetto di moschea lasciato incompiuto dal sultano Yacoub al-Mansour, si erge a testimonianza del patrimonio medievale e delle aspirazioni della città. Nelle vicinanze, il Mausoleo di Mohammed V offre uno sguardo sulla storia più recente del Marocco, la sua sagoma bianca immacolata che onora l'eredità dei venerati re della nazione e il loro ruolo nel raggiungimento dell'indipendenza. Dopo 1h30 guida per raggiungere un minareto Torre Hassan, adiacente alle rovine di una moschea incompiuta. La costruzione della moschea e del minerale iniziò nel XII secolo durante il regno del sovrano almohade, Yacoub al-Mansour. la torre è alta 44 metri e presenta intricati dettagli decorativi, come calligrafia e motivi geometrici.
Il Grande mausoleo islamico di Rabat, fu costruito tra il 1961 e il 1971, in seguito alla morte del re Mohammed V nel 1961. Il mausoleo è stato progettato dall'architetto vietnamita Nguyen Viet Thu, e la costruzione è stata eseguita da artigiani marocchini. è caratterizzato da un'imponente architettura islamica, intricata lavorazione del marmo. Le tombe sono fatte di onice bianca e situate sotto una grande cupola.
Dopo 15 minuti, raggiungeremo un grande palazzo costruito nel 1864 durante il regno del sultano Mohammed IV, che è la residenza ufficiale del re del Marocco. Il palazzo presenta un'architettura marocchina tradizionale, elaborati lavori in ferro battuto e un intricato telelavoro. Sebbene i visitatori non siano ammessi all'interno del palazzo, possono vederlo dall'esterno e godersi i giardini circostanti. Rimane un importante sito culturale e storico a Rabat
Ci dirigiamo verso Challa fortess, che è stata dichiarata patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO nel 2012, come attrazione turistica più popolare di Rabat ed è sede di entrambe le rovine romane e di una necropoli musulmana medievale.
In 5 minuti si raggiunge una fortificazione storica risalente al XII secolo, realizzata in pietra arenaria e rinforzata con bastioni, porte e torri. Circondano la città vecchia di Rabat e i visitatori le costeggiano per ammirare la vista sulla Medina e sui dintorni.

Presenta una piscina centrale riflettente, aranci, aiuole, fontane, padiglioni, pergolati e piastrelle decorate e cancelli, tutti caratteristici dello stile del giardino andaluso. PS: il giardino è chiuso il venerdì.

A very convenient wau to get an overview of Rabat and grasp the essentials of the city. Sallah was a perfect guide and highly professional driver. He provided interesting historical facts and was very involved in the discussion. The tour is very flexible, allowing for spending as much time as you want on the sights, which was ideal for me as a solo traveler. After the tour Salah took me to the hotel and then drove me to a restaurant to have lunch. The only disadvantage probably would be that the admission ticket to Challah is not included. Given the tour's price, it was unexpected

I was picked up from the Hyatt Hotel in Casablanca right on time. There was another solo lady passenger on the van which was nice. We were then met in Rabat by our tour guide, a very knowledgeable man. He provided us with tons of information about Rabat. The capital city tour exceeded my expectations. Rabat is absolutely a beautiful town. The day trip from Casablanca is a must! We were taken to the Kings Palace, The Ancient City of Sala, The Gardens, Hassan Mosque and the Moroccan Santorini. We walked through the narrow streets lined with white houses and then got to the end to see where the river meets the ocean. Absolutely stunning!!! At the end we got to experience a true Beautiful Moroccan restaurant called Dar Naji.

The tour was great and Rabat is a beautiful city. I just don't think there was enough time at each spot, from our perspective it didn't need to be that rushed since is not a long trip from Casablanca. Maybe if the tour was 8 hours long it would be perfect. Also, once we started we were told we were gonna have the option of free time in the Casbah or in the Medina, but the guide and driver took us directly to have lunch in the beach without asking us. Since we were a small group, we were able to go back to the Medina after insisting. Overall, I recommend the tour if you are running out of time, but I think these improvements could be useful.
