Itinerario
In primo luogo, visiterai anche Penang Hill, dove percorrerai un funicolare fino alla sua cima a 833 m sul livello del mare per goderti una spettacolare vista panoramica di Georgetown e della terraferma di Butterworth. I bungalow coloniali si trovano intorno a questa collina a causa degli inglesi che preferiscono stare in un clima più fresco rispetto all'ambiente caldo e umido della città.
Successivamente, visita il tempio Wat Chayamangkalaram dove si trova la 4a statua del Buddha reclinabile più lunga. Proprio dall'altra parte della strada è possibile visitare anche il Tempio Burmese di Dhammikarama che ospita una statua di Buddha che si erge a 8,2 metri, il che la rende la più alta della Malesia. L'esistenza di questi due templi è dovuta al primo insediamento della comunità thailandese e birmana nei primi anni del 1800.
Fort Cornwallis è un forte bastione a George Town, Penang, in Malesia, costruito dalla Compagnia Britannica delle Indie Orientali alla fine del XVIII secolo. Fort Cornwallis è il più grande forte permanente in Malesia. Il forte non si è mai impegnato in combattimento durante la sua storia operativa.

Chew Jetty, o Sneah1 Chew1 Kio2 a Penang Hokkien, è il più grande degli insediamenti sul lungomare di George Town. È stato creato a metà del 19 ° secolo, in un Penang molto diverso da quello che è oggi. Gli ultimi molloni della comunità, il Peng Aun e il Cap3 Snaeh3 Kio2, sono stati istituiti solo negli anni '60. Ciascuno dei moli del clan ha un piccolo santuario per rendere omaggio alle divinità marine. We enjoyed the tour. The driver Vijay was very friendly and knowledgeable. He followed the itinerary and allowed us plenty of time to take pictures etc. The vehicle was fully airconditioned and neat. The driver also let us use his power bank when our phone battery was low. We recommend the tour and the driver Vijay to others.

I’ve only given four stars because we had a few glitches, not a moan, it was a Very Good Trip, let me stress that. The driver was a lovely old guy but his limited knowledge of English caused a couple of misunderstandings about pick up points etc. The minibus was a bit strange as we had to crouch down to look out of the window to see out. However, the fast track to Penang Hill via the Funicular Railway was amazing, with lovely views and walks. Later visit to the Buddhist Temple was very pleasant. We also gained an insight into the areas of Penang to walk to later in the day. Good value trip and experience of this interesting location.

We got met by a woman (no idea of her name and she kept ringing on the phone for the driver, finally she got in touch and we then had to walk about 15 minutes to the van where she disappeared and he took over. He said “where do you want to go” and I said I thought you knew, anyway we had tickets for Penang hill fast track so I said to go there where he dropped us off and said ring him when we were done and that was it we were then left on our own and there were people everywhere. We finally found where to go and we went up the funicular and it was great but I was disappointed as had booked 2 other tours with Viator and they were wonderful
We booked a 6hr excursion; were told by the driver who barely spoke english that it was only 5 hours. It was resolved after calling the office and talking to the person in charge. We waited 30 min for the driver to pick us up from Penang Hill which was irritating. Our driver was very nice but hard to understand; he even let us borrow local currency in lieu of dollars we thought that was nice.
