Reservation through Viator wasn't clear who the tour provider was. I had to call and ask so I would know which tour van to look out for - by the way it was Cactus Tours. The driver was running behind schedule, but at least the person I called told me in advance the driver would be about 15 mins late. Once in the van, the drive went well, arrived at the property, but it took some time to check in. The Cactus Tour clerk had to wait about 15 mins for the funds to show up even though I pre-paid for this activity. Something about a third-party operator having to release the funds and show up in their bank before he would let us fully complete the check in process. I guess this is typical from what he told us. I asked about using a GoPro camera and he said, "No Problem," just let your guide know so the guide could give me a helmet with the mounting clip. Once with the guide, we had to leave all loose articles (bags and phones) in a locker, where you set your own combo. Then they drive you out to the camel/horse corrals. Once there, our guide walked us out to the loading platforms and proceeded to tie headscarves on our head. I asked about the helmet option with the GoPro mount, but he said he didn't have one and that I could just hold the GoPro - at least he allowed video recording, as they won't allow photos with your phone while riding. They have a photographer following in an ATV taking different pictures and video clips. It is two people per camel. Each camel is clipped to the one in front of it. The guide walks in the front with a leash on the first camel. He takes you out to the beach and does a big loop, about 20 min ride. When entering the loading area, just watch your feet/legs on the rubber/concrete platform so it doesn't get pinched as the camel walks in. After the ride, the guide takes you to a small pen with a camel and gives you some carrot sticks to feed it. He informs you that no photos/videos are allowed, only the photographer working for Cactus Tours is allowed. So, we each take our turn feeding the camel some carrots and getting different poses. Then we head up to the new building under construction to use the restroom, wash up, and have the buffet lunch. The food was decent enough. After eating, you ride back to the main building where you do your tequila tasting, 3 samples per guest. After that, you can view all the photos and videos from your ride. Photos are not cheap, we only bought one photo for $20. Once done, we walked to the front and there is a guy there coordinating shuttle pick up to take guests back to their respective drop off points.
