Trascorri 5 ore in un tour di mezza giornata del panoramico Turnagain Arm, uno stretto ramo della Cook Inlet che è sostenuto dai Monti Chugach. Percorri la strada più panoramica d'America, la famosa Seward Highway, e fermati in punti come Beluga Point per esplorare il paesaggio alla ricerca della fauna selvatica. All'Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, osserva dove vengono portati gli animali feriti e orfani per la riabilitazione e osserva i grandi mammiferi come caribù, bisonti e alci. Il pranzo non è incluso ma è disponibile per l'acquisto presso l'Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Successivamente, guida attraverso le montagne Chugach, prima di terminare il tour guidato per piccoli gruppi con ritiro e riconsegna ad Anchorage. L'Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center è un santuario dedicato alla conservazione della fauna selvatica dell'Alaska attraverso la conservazione, la ricerca, l'educazione e la cura degli animali di qualità. L'AWCC accoglie animali feriti e orfani tutto l'anno e fornisce loro spaziosi recinti e cure animali di qualità. La maggior parte degli animali che arrivano all'AWCC diventano residenti permanenti e avranno sempre una casa qui. Il Centro gestisce oltre 200 acri di spaziosi habitat per far sentire gli animali a casa e mostrare il loro naturale comportamento "selvaggio". I visitatori possono vedere gli orsi bruni che si rinfrescano nell'acqua, un alce toro impettito, un bisonte di legno che vaga sui pascoli e altro ancora.
Questa è una tappa popolare mentre percorri la Seward Highway. Qui troverai le viste a 180 gradi del braccio di Turnagain. C'è una vasta area di osservazione con cannocchiali e segni interpretativi. Questo è un posto eccellente per osservare l'alesaggio. La marea in arrivo ha allungato l'intera larghezza del braccio di Turnagain e può essere alta sei piedi quando entra di corsa. Guarda kayak e surfisti che cavalcano l'onda per diverse miglia. Cerca le beluga che nuotano nel surf (a partire da settembre)

Eli, our guide, was the best. Knowledgeable. Funny, and thoughtful. Made are trip special by conforming it to us and our interests. Was very flexible on stops, and gave us the time needed to give us great memories. Spawning salmon and beluga whales were the highlight. Learned a lot about Alaska, its habitat and wildlife. Our tour guide, Eli, was excellent! He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the land, conservation center, glaciers, and history. Then we ended with a beautiful panoramic view of Anchorage.

Best tour ever! Christine made this a memorable day. There were only two of us on tour so it allowed her to take our interests into account when deciding the day’s itinerary.
