Il Centro Culturale Ainu è un vero gioiello nascosto. Nascosto in un ambiente naturale lussureggiante a circa un'ora di distanza da Sapporo, questo centro / museo è sicuro di piacere. È molto informativo con tonnellate di manufatti di The Ainu. Il centro è ben curato e i visitatori sono incoraggiati a tenere e toccare con mano i molti autentici manufatti Ainu. Il villaggio all'aperto con tradizionali case e canoe artigianali Ainu sono molto cool da sperimentare. Questo è uno spettacolo “must go” per coloro che sono interessati ai gruppi indigeni. Il tour proseguirà verso il vicino villaggio termale di Jozankei (Onsen). Ci sono 56 sorgenti termali a Jozankei, concentrate intorno ai ponti Tsukimibashi e Takayamabashi insieme al fiume Toyohira che scorre in tutto il villaggio. Le acque della maggior parte di questi bagni termali termali hanno temperature medie che vanno dai 60 agli 80 gradi Celsius. Questo tour inizierà alla stazione di Sapporo di fronte a “Myomu” (La struttura circolare in pietra) di fronte alle porte dell’uscita sud della stazione di Sapporo. Vi aspettiamo qui alle 9 di mattina esatte. La tua guida sarà lì per salutarti. Dopo brevi presentazioni e sorrisi, inizieremo il nostro meraviglioso tour partendo dal Centro Culturale Ainu. Il tour inizierà qui al Centro Culturale Ainu. La tua guida ti condurrà attraverso il tour di 1 ora del Museo Ainu Center (sala mostre). Qui, imparerai lo stile di vita, la storia e l'arte del popolo Ainu, il popolo indigeno che per primo si stabilì Hokkaido e sviluppò una cultura unica. Questa struttura è la prima del suo genere in Giappone a concentrarsi sugli abitanti originali e consente ai visitatori di sentire, toccare e sperimentare in prima persona i lavori artigianali tradizionali Ainu (oltre 300 articoli) realizzati da artigiani Ainu.
Dopo aver lasciato il Centro Culturale Ainu, ti dirigerai (in autobus) al pittoresco villaggio termale molto vicino conosciuto come Jozankei. Jozankei si trova all'interno del lussureggiante parco nazionale Shikotsu-Toya. Questa zona è caratterizzata da topografia e fenomeni creati da centinaia di anni di attività vulcanica. Così, questa attività vulcanica ha creato numerose sorgenti termali naturali che punteggiano l'intera area del villaggio di Jozankei. All'arrivo, la tua guida ti mostrerà la zona e ti assicurerà di vedere tutte le attrazioni popolari che Jozankei offre. Questi includeranno sia il Santuario e Tempio di Jozankei, Gesen Park e pediluvio, Futami Park e Futami Tsuribashi Suspension Bridge. A lovely few hours enjoying Scott’s guidance and hospitality. Enjoyed the Ainu Museum, the public transportation rides, the lunch experience, the onsen soaking and of course, Scott’s conversations and dry humor! The experience was enhanced by the presence of Stella and Faith from Hawaii in our little group.
Highly recommend this small group tour. If there’s interest in Ainu culture and history, book this trip. Scott was very informative, insightful and it’s a better way to fully experience the centre rather than just walking through it. Day is very balanced with the onsen trip after it. Thanks Scott :)
We used public transportation to get there so it took a while but was scenic along the way. The Ainu Museum was very interesting. Then, we headed to Jozankei for lunch, a short hike, and the onsen at a local hotel. It was a different experience than our hotel onsen. There were a lot of people but 3 different baths. Overall, it was a long but very good day with our guide, Scott.
He is knowledgeable and explained things in detail so that we could easily understand. It was a pleasure traveling with you. Thank you..
This was an outstanding tour where we were able to be immersed in the culture at the museum as well as explore the hot springs town. Our guide was informative and friendly. Would highly recommend for anyone interested in the culture of Sapporo and interested in the Indigenous culture of Japan.
A great tour, with an engaging tour guide in Scott. Fees were all included in the ticket and you get a good showing around the Ainu museum and the Hot Springs, coupled with the onsen trip, lasting about 10 hours from start to finish. Highly recommended, although wear shoes with grip if going on the gorge hike during off season!

A very informative and stress-free trip, even in spite of the weather warning of a snowstorm that hit the morning of our trip. Unfortunately, I have tattoos so could not join the Onsen section but still was able to enjoy a footbath
