Lasciati incantare dalle meraviglie della principesca villa cinquecentesca del cardinale Scipione Borghese, costruita per ospitare la sua vasta collezione di antichità, dipinti e sculture. Il primo piano, con i suoi magnifici soffitti, ospita la collezione di statue. Antichi capolavori e le prime opere di Gianlorenzo Bernini, il talentuoso artista scoperto dal Cardinale. Il primo piano, o "piano nobile" è dedicato ai dipinti. Come in un libro di Storia dell'Arte, ammirerai grandi opere del Rinascimento e del Barocco. Caravaggio, Raffaello, Tiziano... questi sono solo alcuni dei pittori che vedrai qui rappresentati.

Una collezione incredibile dislocata in un ambiente straordinario, così ricco che anche Napoleone volle metterci le mani sopra e lo fece sposando la sorella a Camillo Borghese erede della famiglia. Una guida turistica storica dell'arte ti permetterà di immergerti nella storia della collezione. Stanza dopo stanza ammirerai i capolavori assoluti dell'arte europea creati da Raffaello, Botticelli, Tiziano, Caravaggio. Infine, ma non meno importanti, ammirerai i sublimi gruppi scultorei in marmo di Gian Lorenzo Bernini, probabilmente il più grande scultore del XVII secolo. La visita durerà 2 ore. Al termine del vostro tour non perdetevi una passeggiata nel bellissimo parco della villa.

Sabrina was our expert art historian who guided us through the museum and its grounds. The knowledge of the works, their meanings, and how they told the story of the family and Rome itself as conveyed in a wonderfully understandable way.
