I lavori furono iniziati nel 1090 ma la maggior parte delle mura difensive sembra essere stata ricostruita nel XII secolo. L'area delimitata è un rettangolo irregolare di 31 ettari con un perimetro di circa 2.516 metri, di cui 88 torri semicircolari. Le mura hanno una larghezza media di 3 metri e un'altezza media di 12 metri. Le nove porte furono completate in diversi periodi.
L'Alcázar di Segovia è un alcázar medievale situato nella città di Segovia, patrimonio dell'umanità dall'UNESCO. Sorto su una falesia rocciosa sopra la confluenza di due fiumi vicino alle montagne Guadarrama, è uno dei castelli-palazzi più caratteristici della Spagna in virtù della sua forma - come la prua di una nave. L'Alcázar è stato originariamente costruito come fortezza, ma da allora è servito come palazzo reale, prigione di stato, collegio di artiglieria reale e accademia militare. The tour to Avila and Segovia was quite good! Our tour guide Angy was friendly and audible through the radio sets, and she did an amazing job switching between Spanish and English with the same content. The informational content of the walking tour was okay, covering broad historical strokes. I wished there was more detail, but given a bilingual tour, it was good enough. The chosen sites were great, and we didn’t have to walk too far or up too steep of slopes to see them. The muralla and the aqueduct were highlights for sure. Transport was without issue, although the tour building was a little hard to find. Overall, solid tour, and worth the money.

Remiro was such a great tour guide. All other customers were Spanish and only my families were speaking English, but Remiro took good care of us in the whole trip. The trip was super fun and yet we have plenty of time to buy souvenirs. Segovia was a beautiful city and everyone would love it. Highly recommended.

We had Alejandro and José Luis. Good guide, he knows too much about the cities, he is interested in the tourists, plus he offers you phone batteries, water, and sunscreen.
Everything was super good, the guide Alex gave us portable chargers, and even sunscreen, very attentive. The transportation was good and the cities go without saying
