The tour was well organized overall. The pick-up was straightforward – we were informed the night before about the exact time, and the car arrived on time. That made a good first impression right away. The bus was a bit older, but perfectly fine. It was completely occupied, which made the ride look a little fuller. The announcements were mostly in Hindi, as most of the participants spoke Hindi. In retrospect, however, we got a short summary in English, which was helpful – even if a little more English explanations would have been desirable during the trip. After the bus ride we had to change into an off-road vehicle, which has also seen better times. The route to the waterfall was very bumpy, and you could really feel every stone – that’s probably part of the adventure here. The waterfall itself was definitely the highlight. There were some visitors on site, but it didn't feel crowded. On the way back we visited a spice plantation. That was interestingly designed and there was good, solid food. Overall a nice tour with a great destination – there is still some room for improvement in comfort and voice prompts.
The jeep ride to the start of the falls is extremely long and arduous. Once you are dropped off, there is a 20 minute walk over a rough difficult terrain. Once at the falls actually getting into the water is very dangerous. Frail or elderly should be advised not to go. Falls themselves are breathtakingly beautiful. The reason for giving a 4 not a 3 is because we then went on to the spice plantation, where we received a warm welcome, had a fabulous meal and were toured around the plantation by a very knowledgeable guide.
Good sites but poor service provider: 1. Church visit was only 10 minutes and from outside, we were not even allowed to enter the inside the campus. 2. Experience at Dhudsagar falls and spice garden were amazing, would totally recommend to go to these places. 3. The host (bus driver & crew) however were very unprofessional and impolite to the guests. Used poor language, picked fight with other road users, drove very rashly. 4. The conductor would voluntarily ask and connects you with random taxi drivers, please don’t take taxi from them, we had a poor experience there as well.
Travelled about 5 hours return and spend 1.5 hours at the waterfall. Then spend about two hours at a spice plantation for lunch and activities. The itinerary did not mention any activities such as zip lining. It felt that this was more about the spice plantation and to get tourist to buy spices than experiencing a day in nature. Communication was poor particularly when the jeeps dropped us there was no communication where to find the bus. While some knew I was confused and had to contact the guide directly.
The bus arrangement made for the trip is horrible. People are fighting for the seats at every stop. People are capturing anybody’s seat. Tour operator is not intervening and asking people to settle on their own. Never seen such a mismanaged tour and hence forced to write this review during the tour itself so that nobody else books this again.
Hi the trip is def worth doing however I would do a separate trip if you plan on seeing wildlife as the jeep safari was enclosed and the driver drove far too fast to see anything. There were plenty of monkeys about though. The waterfalls were impressive and nice walk through the reserve. Breakfast was good (pay yourself) and lunch lovely (included). The spice place was great though take mosquito spray as we got badly bit. There was opportunity so do extra activities also so take some cash. The tour guide had bad body odour and stopped talking in English early on just saying random words and seemed unhappy when I asked him to explain. The driver was a bit unfriendly also so we didn’t feel bad not leaving a tip as we would usually do but I didn’t see anyone else tipping either. The other people on the trip were nice and it was good to do something different.
Nice spices and Great lunch. Kind guide Rehmat. On time and good explanations. The waterfalls were a Nice experience, and sure Homans experience it with these operators.
A very long trip over rough and dusty ground in a 4x4. Crowded when you arrive and no easy access to the water. Large boulders to climb over.
Very bad. We booked for hotel pickup but got message night before the trip that we had to travel to a needing point in North Goa and there would be no hotel pick up. Clearly not acceptable behavior from a reputable service provider. As a result we did not get to go on the trip at all.
The waterfall 100% worth the visit, spices plantation not so much and be aware if mosquitos... The tour itself very disappointing as I booked a English tour but all the information by the guide was delivered in local lingo so not what I have booked at all, plantation guide was delivered in English which was good... But very disappointed with main guide who completely ignored it was a English booked tour which ended up not so sure what was the plan as I was left behind of the plans due to not understanding the local lingo.
