Il Circolo d'Oro è uno dei tour più accessibili in tutte le stagioni dell'anno. È un viaggio che ti porterà attraverso la storia e la cultura islandese immerso nei paesaggi mozzafiato di questa terra tra geyser, placche tettoniche e pittoresche cascate.

La prima tappa prevista è proprio accanto alle placche tettoniche che incorniciano il Parco Nazionale di Þingvellir. Inserito nel Patrimonio Mondiale dell'UNESCO, questo sito ha un notevole significato storico, geologico e culturale. Fu proprio qui, infatti, che nel 930 dC ebbe luogo l'Alþing: il primo parlamento democratico della storia dell'umanità. Proprio sulle sponde del lago si trova anche la faglia tettonica che attraversa l'intero parco nazionale. Þingvallavatn che è anche il più grande lago della nazione. Il lasso di tempo include il trasporto.
La seconda tappa del nostro viaggio sarà nell'area geotermica di Geysir, situata nella valle di Haukardalur a circa un'ora di macchina da Þingvellir. Questa zona di fumarole si è formata circa 10.000 anni fa a seguito di eventi sismici e movimenti tettonici, formando questi coni eruttivi dall'acqua bollente. Geysir è il nome del cono principale di questa zona da cui deriva il nome generico dei geyser di tutto il mondo. Sebbene Geysir sia attualmente inattivo, nella stessa area il geyser "Strokkur" erutta in media ogni 5-10 minuti. In questa zona, oltre alle eruzioni di Strokkur, si possono percepire gli odori e vedere i colori dei minerali cristallizzati che contraddistinguono l'intensa attività geotermica caratteristica dell'isola.
L'ultima tappa principale del nostro tour è la famosa cascata Gullfoss (cascata d'oro). Situata lungo il corso del fiume Hvitá la cui sorgente ha origine dal Langjökull (secondo ghiacciaio più grande d'Islanda), Gullfoss è una delle cascate più famose dell'isola con il suo salto di 32 metri. Un'altra storia su questa cascata risale agli inizi del secolo scorso, quando gli investitori espressero il desiderio di costruire una centrale idroelettrica, andando così a “chiudere” la cascata. Fu proprio grazie alla protesta ambientalista di Sigriður Tómasdóttir (figlia del proprietario del terreno dove si trova la cascata) che questo progetto non fu mai realizzato, dandoci ancora oggi la possibilità di visitare questo luogo incantevole.
Ancora non toccato dal turismo di massa, il canyon di Brúarhlöð, si staglia sulle sponde del fiume Ölfusá, che nasce proprio dalla cascata di Gullfoss. Questo canyon un po' meno turistico è una meta perfetta per fermarsi a consumare il nostro pranzo al sacco.

We were truly thrilled with this experience! Ilaria was simply wonderful: super available, very kind, and extremely knowledgeable. She enriched the entire journey by sharing many anecdotes and curiosities, answering every question with a smile. The tour itself is splendid, and there was also a beautiful surprise stop that I don't want to spoil for anyone, but it made everything even more special! Also noteworthy is the quality-price ratio: it costs less than many other alternatives out there, but the quality is significantly higher (compared to the stories and complaints of other tourists we met during the trip who chose different agencies). I would say that such an experience is worth doing, even for seafarers like us, the guys of Elysia just fantastic .Marco with the south coast of Vik and the Golden Circle has followed us patiently (he knows it) and educated us to perfection on every detail of these fantastic places ...Michele made us discover a Reykjavik that alone we would never have imagined , only regret is that we could not see the northern lights because of the climatic conditions, pretext, to return to see Silver Circle always with this young, organized and dynamic Elysia tour. I loved every moment of this trip, the differences in landscapes and colors at close ranges, even the cold and windy weather. I could not choose what is the most beautiful place I have seen because they are all unique and wonderful.
