Carolina was a great tour guide! She was very nice & knowledgeable. We loved the tour. Bus was comfortable. Good driver.
We had an amazing time during our visit to Santiago de Compostela. The timing was perfect. Jorge our tour guide was at the cruise port waiting for us with his large orange umbrella that you couldn’t miss. He was very easy to locate. We boarded the bus on time and Ana delivered an amazing ride from Vigo to Galicia, where we visited the famous Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. Jorge gave us incredible history on the area and plenty of time to do shopping and to visit the area before touring the cathedra. This was an overall amazing experience and we would not hesitate to do it again. If you visiting in Vigo, Spain, we highly recommend that you book this tour with Jorge and Ana.
Great value, informative tour. Jorge was very personable, humorous and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Trip to Santiago de Compostela was cancelled by the operator at short notice. Subsequently payment was taken from my account. At the time of writing I have not been refunded for the non-existent trip.
Hi David Roberts, before leaving negative reviews, please check your account, as I’ve checked and the refund has been processed. Best regards
It is not at all the tour operator's fault that we weren't in port very long, but it did cause our time in Santiago to feel very short. However, we got back to the ship with time to spare, which is the most important thing. Our guide, Maria, was a master at planning on the fly and delivered a very good tour within the Cathedral, even navigating a scary medical situation with a member of our group. It was handled promptly and professionally. The tour on the bus could have been a little stronger considering 3 hours of the excursion was spent there.
Bus was clean and ride comfortable. The tour guide was pleasant with an accent but clear English. We saw everything promised and loved the ear radio receivers we each got making it so easy to keep upand know what we were seeing. Our ship was only in port from 10:00-3:30 but tour was adapted so that we saw all promised, had free time (about 45 mins) and made it back to port by 3:20…
The driver was fabulous, smooth driving. Maria, the guide was one of the best. Very knowledgeable, professional, excellent communication skills...highly recommend!
Easy to find the orange umbrella right by the ship. Started on time. Throughout, our guide Maria, was excellent, friendly, professional, and highly informative. Highly recommended. The town is beautiful, pizza spectacular, and the church where Apostle James is buried was one of the most ornate we’ve seen in Europe. Well worth it.
The weather was perfect today, and we headed out early for a tour of Santiago de Compostela. Our guide, Christina, was so good! She have us the history of Galicia as we took a coach to the site. First, we went to the museum. We visited the tomb of St. James and gave him a hug. (Yes, that’s a thing everyone does.) After that, we were fortunate enough to attend mass at the cathedral. There were pilgrims attending from all over the world. Mass was in Spanish. Before the mass, visitors that were not participating were asked to leave. The organ was unique and had pipes going both vertically and horizontally! At the end of mass, some officials told people to stay clear, and then they lit the Botifumiero. Wow! A team of monks got it swinging, and it looked like it was going to hit the ceiling! It’s a GIANT incense burner suspended from the ceiling of the cathedral. We were so lucky to see this! Cameras weren’t allowed during mass, but I found this on YouTube. https://share.google/xDd9y8l2AVfbXCley Then we met up with Christina again, and she bought us some special Galician beer from the cafe. We drank it on the bus on our way back home. What a wonderful day!
Incredible day exploring Santiago De Compostella. We had no idea about the history of this place, but now are in awe of "The Way" and the lengths travelers go to complete the path. Guides were excellent. Highly recommend.
