Con questo tour in auto, parti da Bolzano lungo la Grande Strada delle Dolomiti fino a Cortina d'Ampezzo per ammirare i suoi paesaggi più abbaglianti in un solo giorno. Itinerario
Partendo da Bolzano, porta d'accesso alle Dolomiti e capoluogo dell'Alto Adige, attraverseremo la Valle dell'Ega, che inizia a Bolzano e corre verso est tra il Catinaccio e il Latemar. Questa strada fu costruita nel 1894 quando la zona faceva parte dell'Impero austro-ungarico. Ci fermeremo al Lago di Carezza, il lago più bello delle Dolomiti occidentali: un soggiorno di 30 minuti con una passeggiata intorno al lago, se volete.
Poi arriveremo al Passo Costalunga. Nei pressi del Passo vedremo lo storico “Grand Hotel Carezza”, costruito nel 1893, il primo hotel di lusso delle Dolomiti che ha ospitato ospiti molto importanti come l’imperatrice Sissi, Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie. Dal Passo Costalunga raggiungeremo la Val di Fassa in Trentino: attraverseremo i paesi di Vigo di Fassa e Canazei per arrivare sotto le imponenti cime del Gruppo del Sella.
Il passo del Carso è un passo di alta montagna della provincia dell'Alto Adige in Italia. Collega Bolzano attraverso la Val d'Ega e la Val Welschnofen con la Val di Fassa.
Canazei è un resort alpino nel nord Italia. Situata nei pressi dei passi Pordoi, Sella e Fedaia, fa parte del comprensorio Dolomiti Superski, che offre numerose discese.
Arriveremo poi al Passo Costalunga. Nei pressi del passo, vedremo lo storico Grand Hotel Carezza, costruito nel 1893, il primo hotel di lusso delle Dolomiti, che ha ospitato ospiti molto importanti come l'imperatrice Sissi, Winston Churchill, e Agatha Christie. Dal Passo di Costalunga raggiungeremo la Val di Fassa in Trentino: attraverseremo i paesi di Vigo di Fassa e Canazei per arrivare sotto le imponenti cime del Gruppo del Sella. Da qui inizia una lunga serie di 27 tornanti che ci portano al famoso Passo Pordoi, a 2.239 metri sul livello del mare. Si tratta di un viaggio di un'ora se si decide di prendere la funivia per Sass Pordoi (2.950 metri; la funivia è aperta da fine maggio a fine ottobre e da Natale a Pasqua).
Poco oltre il Passo Falzarego in direzione Alleghe si trova il Castello di Andraz, uno dei castelli più antichi delle Dolomiti. Costruito nel 1027 su una grande frana, fu costruito per difendere le fonderie e la strada che trasportava il ferro estratto a Monte Pore. Il materiale subì una prima lavorazione al Castello, prima di essere trasportato in tutta Europa. La qualità del ferro era eccellente e permetteva la produzione di spade molto pregiate. Furono persino usati in Scozia durante le ribellioni del XIII secolo raffigurate nel film di Mel Gibson "Braveheart".
Raggiungiamo il Passo Falzarego attraverso il quale entriamo nelle Dolomiti orientali. Luogo ideale per facili escursioni a 2150 metri sul livello del mare con splendida vista a 360'
Dal Passo Pordoi, scendiamo al paese di Arabba e proseguiamo verso est fino a raggiungere il Passo Falzarego, porta d’accesso alle Dolomiti orientali. Raggiungiamo poi Cortina d'Ampezzo, la "Perla delle Dolomiti", il primo resort montano italiano e sede delle Olimpiadi invernali del 1956. Cortina, insieme a Milano, ospiterà ancora una volta le Olimpiadi invernali nel 2026.
In Alta Pusteria, nella Valle di Landro, si trova il lago Landro (Dürrensee), le cui acque verde turchese sono una delizia. Accessibile da Dobbiaco, si trova nel Parco Naturale delle Tre Cime e confina con il Parco Naturale Fanes-Senes-Braies.
Da Cortina si raggiunge poi il Lago di Misurina, con la sua incredibile vista panoramica sulle Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Il lago, con la sua vista sulle Tre Cime a nord e sui monti del Sorapis a sud, è l’immagine più famosa delle Dolomiti nel mondo.
Le Tre Cime di Lavaredo sono uno dei simboli più famosi delle Dolomiti e dell’Alto Adige. Queste imponenti montagne, con le loro notevoli formazioni rocciose, emersero oltre 200 milioni di anni fa e attirano visitatori da tutto il mondo. Nel 2009 la loro straordinaria bellezza ha fatto guadagnare alle Dolomiti, insieme alle Tre Cime di Lavaredo, un sito patrimonio mondiale dell’UNESCO.
A soli 20 minuti da Misurina, avremo la possibilità di fare una breve sosta in un altro importante lago delle Dolomiti orientali, il Lago di Dobbiaco.
Da Dobbiaco, in circa 20 minuti, raggiungiamo l'estremo nord-est d'Italia, a pochi chilometri dal confine austriaco, per il gran finale di giornata con la visita al famoso Lago di Braies. Da Braies si ritorna a Bolzano in un’ora e 40 minuti attraversando la Val Pusteria e poi la Val Isarco.

Gianni was great. Very informative and showed you everything. Saw many lakes and even took you to a cable car to go to the highest point.
We loved our tour with Gianni - he showed us so many amazing sites all over the Dolomites. He was very flexible and knowledgable, and made it very easy to see all of the highlights in one day. It was so nice to sit back and let someone else do the driving and parking - we would have been so stressed out trying to see half of these sites by ourselves. This was a great experience! Gianni was very flexible, kind and knowledgeable and loves what he does. He also drove very well and had a very well maintained and comfortable van. While he knows a lot, it would have been helpful if he explained more about the history and geology of the region. We could not have seen so much without his experienced guidance.

It was so nice to have door to door service, Gianni was an amazing driver and made us feel comfortable and relaxed the entire trip. What an amazing day! We were in Bolzano (which was a charming town!) specifically between other points in Austria / Germany before getting to Venice, and came specifically to see the Dolomites. I have NO IDEA how we'd have experienced it without Gianni's amazing tour. We could (family of 5 - two adult children, my husband, me and my mom) just relax while he expertly took us from point to point, adding great insights along the way. We were so fortunate because the weather was pristine on our day in late May, and the crowds hadn't yet fully descended. It was a brilliant time to be there. This tour was one of the best highlights of our entire two weeks across Vienna, Munich, Innsbruck, Bolzano, and Venice. The mountains and lakes are absolutely gorgeous, and we were so grateful to be able to share this part of the world due to Gianni's fantastic knowledge and expert navigating / driving. The stopping points were perfectly described in the trip itinerary with pictures, so we felt well informed in advance and were so pleased we got to see it all and take in the beauty of this region with Gianni. He was SOOO kind above and beyond this itinerary, as our later stop was impacted by the Italian rail strike, and we were able to hire him to drive us to Venice as our train was canceled. We're forever grateful for both this tour and the unplanned extra time en route to Venice with him!
We had a wonderful day exploring the Dolomites with Gianni as our guide. He was punctual, attentive to our needs, and gave us plenty of time to visit each spot. A grand tour of the Dolomites hitting all the must see sights in one 320km trip! Gianni was a great driver and tour guide, giving us lots of time to explore each stop. We also had a very memorable lunch! Definitely a must do for visitors with a limited time to see such of Dolomites as possible.
