We had a wonderful time on this walking tour and learned so much about Bordeaux... the history... the cool stories about the culture.. people and of course the wine! Melanie was amazing... she knew so much and made the tour fun and informative. Thanks so much!
Melanie was a truly engaging speaker, she led us around the major sights of Bordeaux and gave us insights into the history and legendary figures. In the heat she ensured we were taken to shady spots. Great walking tour, definitely recommend 👌
Our walking tour began, as most do, with an overview of the history of the city that provided a framework and touch-points for the information about specific places that would follow. Four major historical points were emphasized: the founding of the city by the Romans, the medieval period, the French Revolution, and the modern day. Overall, the information tended to focus primarily on history and architecture, more so than culture and lifestyle. Our guide did provide some tips on places to prioritize for follow-up visits depending upon how long you have in the city. An important note about the "1 glass of wine": the stop for wine was not made during the tour; rather, the guide gave the name and location for a specific bar that could be visited after its 5;30p opening where you could ask for the guide (who worked there) and receive the wine. According to the information provided the night before the tour, that bar is not open on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
The walking tour of Bordeaux was really excellent. Our guide Ani was very informative and interacted with the group. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour his knowledge of the sites were wonderful and we learnt so much.
The tour itself was wonderful. Ani is very knowledgeable and presents a lot of information in a friendly and interesting way. The problem was with Trip Advisor, who calls it a “free” tour but charges for registering and then mentions that a tip of at least €25 per person should be given. Also, Trip Advisor sent me at least 8 emails, plus text messages and messages on WhatsApp about the tour date and time. This is too much!!

This was by far the highlight of our time in Bordeaux. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to know the history of the city and France as a whole. Our guide Anni was fantastic and so knowledgeable.

Well informed and entertaining guide
Ani was a great tour guide! I learned a lot about Bordeaux as well as language facts! Lots of laughs and saw a lot of downtown! Also extra activity suggestions were very helpful!!
