Itinerario

This was my fourth time at Frasers Hill and I had an expert guide who showed me a lot of birds I had never seen before. 17 kinds in four hours, which was great. We had breakfast soon after, saw some points and ended with lunch. I was given a list of the birds I had seen. Red-bearded Bee-eater, ailver-eared Mesia, Long-tailed Sibia and others. As a precaution, the mountain path to Frasers Hill will get carsick and also requires long sleeves. The driver and expert guide were very kind. It was a happy time.
This tour was an excellent way to access Fraser Hill for birding, especially given my limited time and inability to make an overnight stay. In just 4 hours, I found 40 species of bird including sultan tit, silver-eared mesia, malayan laughingthrush, long-tailed broadbill, rusty-naped pitta, lesser shortwing, golden babbler and many more. In addition, I recorded 8 species of mammal including siamang and white-thighed surili. I would particularly like to recommend my guide, K S Durai, who was extremely knowledgable and greatly assisted my efforts to see as many birds as possible during the tour.
DO NOT JOIN THIS TOUR. I’m furious with how this company handled our booking. We contacted the travel agent via WhatsApp to arrange an extended tour, **confirmed everything a FULL MONTH in advance** and booked through the platform. Then, just 3 days before the trip, they cancelled without any proper explanation. I desperately tried to reach out to them just to make sure there are no misunderstanding or miscommunication — **no replies on WhatsApp, no one answered the phone**, nothing. They finally responded a full day after my initial email, by which time it was too late to make other arrangements. **Completely unreliable and unprofessional. Avoid at all costs.**
We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience you experienced. Your booking should have been handled with far more clarity and professionalism, and we’re genuinely sorry for the stress and disruption this caused to your plans. We completely understand how upsetting it must have been to have your tour cancelled on such short notice—especially after confirming everything well in advance. The lack of timely communication on our part is unacceptable, and we are currently reviewing what went wrong to ensure this does not happen again to future guests. This is not reflective of the standard we aim to uphold, and we deeply regret that we let you down. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and, though we know it doesn’t undo your experience, we’d be grateful for the opportunity to make it right should you consider us again in the future. Safe travels!
Do not use the guides. They are uninterested and do the bare minimum. Get a book and guide yourself, you can then utilise the off road trails, not the lazy tarmac, and bird until you are satisfied. Guides will leave you totally unfulfilled. The birding can be incredible if you max your time. The whole place has a colonial ghost town feel these days.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the guided experience did not meet your expectations. We understand that passionate birders may prefer a more in-depth and flexible approach, and we appreciate your suggestion for self-guiding. Your insights are valuable, and we will share your comments with our team to improve the enthusiasm and engagement of our guides. We're glad to hear you still found the birding experience worthwhile and hope you had some great sightings!
Such a great trip, from the early morning hotel pick up and drive with Alwin which was smooth and comfortable through to the expert help with our expert bird guide it was a great day out and totally worth the early morning start and price. We picked up 29 new bird species which was great, but an additional highlight for me was hearing gibbons amongst the bird and insect calls. Top day trip.
We saw great birds. The guide was very experienced and knowledgeable. The area was beautifull. We had a great time
The hurdles to travel to Fraser Hill on your own are high, and in terms of barding there, Mr. K.S. Durai, who is said to be doing a shop there, is the one whose name appears in BILLS OF FRASER’S HILL. They picked me up at 5:30 in the morning and dropped me off at about 3:00 in the morning. Getting around was also very comfortable. In my case, there was no one to go with, so it was for two, but I think it was worth it. It is even more Recommendation when two or more people participate. Breakfast and lunch were included and we were treated to coffee to take a break midway through forehand. It's a great place to be. I want to stay here and spend more time.
We were able to see a variety of birds, and as a bonus, we also saw several types of monkeys. I didn't stay there for long, but I saw about 10 different types of birds. Driver Albinhar arrived earlier than the 5:30 appointment time, was waiting for us and was very friendly. One thing to note is that it takes 2 hours to get to Fraser's Hill, so birdwatching starts at 8:30 after breakfast and ends before lunch. Then, after lunch, we return to Kuala Lumpur and it ends around 3:30 to 4:00.
The driver Rajan was late for pick us up at my hotel. However, it was just simple miscommunication between the office and myself. The company said they sent me the change of pick-up time but I didn't receive it. Rajan speak good English and answer all my questions without any issues. The licensed nature guide Durai was excellent. He has huge local knowledge and excellent birds spotting capabilities. He also has good humours. He took time to show us which birds we saw using detailed birding book after lunch. Rajan also joined the birding and spotted some birds for us. Breakfast had choices of Indian or Malaysian food and lunch was Chinese food which we could choose what ever we want. Rajan offered us if we want to drop by other tourist attractions on the way back. However, we declined due to we were exhausted from birding. The best parts of our experience was seeing local birds and country side on the way in the comfortable private car instead of large bus with heaps of other people. Fraser's Hill itself is run down and several close down shops and hotels was sad to see.
