I love the creative side of photography but the technical has always left me baffled. Good with composition, not so great with ISO, aperture and all the bells on whistles on digital cameras. I didn't bring my DSLR on this trip (should have - just had my iPhone), but the learning gained from watching Juca with his camera and he explaining the settings and reviewing the resulting images will transfer without question. Always so knowledgeable, and always entertaining. Had a fantastic day - highly, highly recommended (remember your camera!).

The best part was immersing myself in the Japanese cedar forest, walking to unique spots, immersed in the wild nature. It gave me a wonderful experience that I will always remember! My family spent 2 wonderful days with Juca doing 2 custom tours. He took us to the best, off the beaten track spots, provided interesting information, and took the most beautiful photos. He is patient, kind, accommodating, and super fun. No question was stupid and no request was too much. I genuinely feel like we made a new friend. I am so glad I booked the photo tour with Azores Expeditions. They are a family owned business and are responsive and dedicated to giving the best tour to their clients. We had such an amazing time, and honestly the best photo tour I’ve been on. The photos were amazing, and Juca is the most dedicated photographer I’ve met on a photo tour. He was giving us multiple perspectives, taught us different settings on our camera, and showed us to lesser known places to take the most amazing photos. It was a pleasure having him show us the island!! We would have booked him again the next day if he had occupancy. Well worth the price and time!

Juca was amazing! He knew all the hidden spots to take the best photos and was so accommodating the entire time. He is an excellent teacher. I know my photographs will improve because of the tips he shared. Juca shared island history with us so we learned a lot about Terceira, too. We finished the day with some great memories and photographs to remember them by. Huge hug from Michigan!

Juca is the best guide and host, I don't think there could be anyone more professional and fun than him on the entire island, he conveys love for this beautiful place and you look incredible in every photo.
