Costruita nel 1787, Cossit House è uno dei primi esempi di architettura neoclassica georgiana della Nuova Scozia. Questa casa a un piano e mezzo, con telaio in legno, è stata originariamente costruita con legname del New England, assemblato in sito a Sydney. Il suo esterno presenta una fondazione in pietra di macerie, un tetto a capanna e sei finestre in legno, tipiche del periodo. Highly recommend this company! Honest, reliable, and professional. Clean, comfortable vehicles with extra passenger space. Friendly, knowledgeable tour guide who made the trip enjoyable. I would definitely book again.
Small group, max 7 guests, but only 6 adults fit in the small minivan - driver made 7. Three were squashed in the back, and would have been next to impossible for less limber folks. Impossible for those in middle and rear seats to hear driver speak. Driver was very nice young man, but somewhat passive about keeping the group on time. Whole Fortress experience was wonderful! Lots to see - no tour gives enough time, IMO.
I booked this tour as a part of my cruise shore excursions. When I originally booked it, it says to disembark as soon as the ship docks and the driver will wait for 30 min. so I chose it thinking I will have some time to spare after the tour. When my ship arrived I realized they messaged me the night before to meet 10:30-11am (our ship was leaving at 3:30pm and this is 4 hr tour), but I couldn’t get the message because I was on the cruiseship with no connection. Long story short, the tour started at 11am we came back 20 min before the ship departure time which I didn’t like it at all. Also the person who was driving us was not a guide, he was just a driver who’s an international student. He tried his best to do his job, but he was unable to provide us with any knowledge or commentary for the area. I think the lack of proper guided tours in Sydney is somewhat understandable seeing how little the town of Sydney is. Fortress of Louisburg was definitely worth to see. I really enjoyed 2 hrs that I spent there. Despite of unprofessional behaviour of the tour company, I would still recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a little time in Sydney as long as you consider this tour as just a convenient transportation.

Interesting history - it’s not the original fortress, was rebuilt by Canada, but interesting exhibit - driver “Jaz” was fun
To describe this as a tour is very misleading. The title should be modified to say “shuttle” instead because all the driver does is drive and has little/no knowledge of the city or its history. In addition to this, the train stop was closed and the driver stated that it’s “almost always not open.” Very disappointed to have spent this type of money for a taxi service.

We booked this company for a four-hour private tour from the Sydney cruise terminal to the Fortress of Louisbourg and the lighthouse. There were nine people in our family group, and we paid more than $1,200. The package was sold to us as including transportation and a professional local guide. Unfortunately, that is not what we received. Our driver was pleasant enough, but he clearly stated that he was only a driver, not a tour guide. He did not provide any meaningful information about the area, the fortress, the lighthouse or local history. When we arrived at the Fortress of Louisbourg, he simply dropped us off and told us he would see us in two hours. This was extremely disappointing. We expected a professionally guided local experience, especially given the price. Instead, we received basic transportation that we could have arranged ourselves for much less. I would not recommend this company to cruise passengers looking for a real tour. Based on our experience, the service did not match what was advertised or what we paid for.
