Book the tour!

What a great tour and a wonderful tour guide! If you’re thinking about booking, don’t hesitate, book it now! Why are you still reading?! I said book it. Joking aside this is a great, well thought out tour. Kevin guides you through The Liberties area in Dublin and shares some history and local lore. We had people of all ages on the tour and even one enjoyed all of the stops (especially the ice cream). I’d recommend this tour to anyone visiting Dublin, either for the first time or even those returning. It’s a great way to see the city and experience and support local businesses. Thanks for the awesome tour, Kevin!

Feed me more

By the end of the tour I might have followed Kev down sketchy alley if he told me there was food at the end of it! It was a great tour and a fantastic way to see a part Dublin, experiencing the tastes and learning the history. The fee was reasonable and having the option to purchase your own food gave the flexibility to east (and spend) as much as you felt comfortable with. I think all of us felt included with Kevin too - there were people on their own, couples and families. Kevin was very personable and made everyone a part of the group. It was a relaxed atmosphere. You don't need to be a 'foodie' to enjoy the tour. It taps into the history of Dublin and still leaves you wanting to experience a bit more.

Tracy is Liberty!

Tracy was so much fun. She was definitely a local that knew the area. Her stories were great and the food stops were more than we expected. Great way to get good eats and drinks your would not find on your own. Fun and filling way to spend a few hours.

Delicious and Entertaining

What a cool way to see Dublin!! Kevin was an outstanding guide - he was hilarious and super informative. He showed us several parts of the city and took us to delicious spots. If you can, do this tour near the start of your time in Dublin to know where to visit during the rest of your trip!

Best Food Tour in Dublin!!

Amazing food and Tour Guide. Kev was brilliant from the start full of local knowledge. Had us laughing right from the get go. Food was delicious and very affordable and can be shared. So you don't need to break the bank. Full of history history not all about the food. Would definitely book again!!

5 Star Tour!!!! Authentic Vibe!

Kevin was a phenomenal tour guide! His ability to weave cultural history, politics, and food/beverage stories from Dublin and Ireland as a whole made the 3 hours together so much more than sampling food and drink. His passion for the area and his country overall helped make us feel at home in Dublin. I would highly recommend his tours!!!

Fun guide, but not for foodies

Our guide, Tracy was great. She was clearly of the neighborhood, had great stories, was very welcoming, and very funny. That said, she really wasn’t much of a foodie so we didn’t learn much about the food scene and the food itself just wasn’t that good. It was also done in a weird order. We started with sausage rolls, then went for Belfast coffees, (which are like Irish coffees but cold and with moonshine), then grilled beef and cheese sandwiches, then crème cake, then fish & chips, then ice cream. The fish and chips were really greasy and honestly not great. The only other real food was the grilled sandwhich. By the end of it, I just felt queasy. Where was the Shepards pie or Irish stew? Foodwise, it was disappointing.

Risposta dell'operatore

Hi Felice, Thanks so much for joining our tour! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the guide Tracey and getting to know the local area. I'm sorry to hear the food wasn't quite what you were expecting. Our experience is very much a STREET FOOD tour rather than a fussy fine dining one. We focus on the fun, everyday street foods that Dubliners eat, while sharing the stories, history, and culture of the city's old town culture. A huge part of our tour is learning about the liberties story through street food. We don’t advertise being a fine dining tour. The idea behind the tour is to help visitors "eat like a local" and "taste the culture." It's not a lobster, champagne, or traditional restaurant tour. I often joke that the foods we talk about are closer to "jet lag food" or "hangover food" than fine dining! This is the story we enjoy telling and it works for us. The tour is structured starting with the street food version of an Irish breakfast, then an Irish welcome drink, followed by lunch, dinner, and dessert. One thing that makes our tours a little different is that we recommend what to try, but everyone gets to choose what not what someone gives this. This way visitors can stick to their own preferences and dietary restrictions. All of this whilst telling stories of Dublins people, culture and food. The fish and chips shop you mentioned is Dublin’s oldest chipper and the only shop in Ireland rated in the top 10 fish shops in the world. If you're ever back in Dublin and would prefer something a little more traditional or higher end, we also offer private custom tours with a focus on classic Irish cuisine or more upscale dining. I think that would probably be a much better fit for what you were looking for. There are also other wonderful food tours in Dublin that focus on more traditional foods. Thanks again for joining us, and I really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
