The guide Francisca was fabulous. She explained everything in a very pleasant way and with photographic support using a tablet. She was very patient while we were taking photos.
It is a great tour and our guide Ivan made it very real entertaining and human. I would recommend him as a guide. He was not too loud either like some of the guides i heard.
We had an excellent tour guide who patiently explained so much of what we were seeing. She was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour memorable. When we arrived, she knew who we were and started the tour, knowing everyone was present, right on time.
The Chapel is so beautiful. While I had some familiarity with certain of the Medicis, the guide, unfortunately, assumed that the 5 people on the tour knew a lot more about them, especially since one individual on the tour kept referencing the Medici series on Netflix or other cable station in America. I would have hoped to learn more about the Medicis whose mausoleums we viewed on the tour. However, the guide did not fill in the blanks or make the Medicis come to life for us on this tour. We could have explored the Chapel on our own with similar results.
Was a good tour, the guide was knowledgeable. Just felt a little overpriced for what we got compared to other tours we’ve done
We booked with Viator for 11:15 and this was also the time confirmed. We waited until ten minutes before the tour and saw no one; we were in the right meeting spot. We called the number available and the person I spoke with said it was “impossible” that I booked at 11:15; the tour was for 11:45. I triple checked and everything we had said 11:15. I was disappointed to wait almost an hour due to the mistake - we were not offered an apology. Ultimately and fortunately we were able to wait but had to leave at the intended ending so we could make another tour. This wasn’t honestly that big of a deal, but being told the mistake was “impossible” with no concern for what happened on the back end was just surprising. Also, the tour was okay. Normally with Viator I have had an excellent experience- so this wasn’t honestly just not the great experience I was used to. Thankful we got to go - wish someone would have taken a look at our documents and shown any concern for our time.
The Medici Chapel has so many interesting features. Our tour guide furnished so much information regarding the various areas and artworks Very informative!
Francesca was a great guide. She was friendly and animated and really passionate about sharing details of the Medici family. The chapel is awesome. A must see! It is an often overlooked site among others in Florence, but it should be on everyone’s list. Plus you see many of Michelangelo sculptures in one room. I want to go back.
On this particular tour, there were only two of us. Basically a private tour. Ivan was our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and had a wonderful sense of humor as well. In what was a serious venue, he made it very approachable. I would greatly recommend Ivan!
Be prepared to be wowed! So much information about the Medici’s, their history, and of the artwork and crypts - it really put the Renassaince period in perspective as well as the other Medici places we had visited across the city.. Our tour guide, Lorenzo, was passionate, very well informed and had great recommendations of further a Medici resource info (including a movie). He also gave us recommendations of other places to visit that were lesser known but nonetheless informative and beautiful. We felt extremely lucky to have him as guide and he has been (by far) the BEST tour guide of our visit. He was also on time, prepared, and included pictures (portraits) of all important Medici’s that helped bring them to life for us.
