Itinerario
Ubicazione: Circa 90 chilometri (circa 2 ore) a sud-ovest del Cairo. Non è un’oasi desertica alimentata da acque sotterranee come Siwa. Fayoum è collegata al fiume Nilo attraverso il canale Bahr Yussef, che la rende la più grande oasi coltivata dell'Egitto.
Wadi El-Hitan (Valle delle Balene) è un sito patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO nel deserto occidentale dell'Egitto. È famosa per i fossili di balene di 40 milioni di anni che mostrano come le balene si siano evolute da animali terrestri a creature marine. I visitatori possono vedere scheletri completi e antica vita marina e godersi il paesaggio desertico unico.
Il lago magico è un lago panoramico nel Wadi El-Rayan, Fayoum. È famosa per cambiare colore con la luce del sole ed è un luogo popolare per nuotare, fare sandboard e godersi la vista del deserto.
Wadi El-Rayan è una bellissima riserva naturale nel deserto di Fayoum, a sud-ovest del Cairo. È nota per i suoi due laghi artificiali collegati dalle uniche cascate d'Egitto, vaste dune di sabbia e Magic Lake, che cambia colore con la luce del sole. La zona ha anche sorgenti sulfuree naturali ed è sede di fauna selvatica rara come la gazzella dalle corna slanciate. È un luogo preferito per sandboard, nuoto, campeggio ed ecoturismo.

We had a wonderful day visiting Valley of the Whales with Ibrahim. He was friendly and knowledgeable and helped us try sandboarding which was a lot of fun. Beautiful scenery and took some great photos.. Definitely recommend.

What an outstanding experience, I cannot recommend this trip highly enough. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly & easy to get along with. The driver was also friendly & drove well. The sites visited are stunning & the history fascinating. The 4x4 ride is a rush & the driver very skilled. One of us flopped massively at sandboarding (cough, me), but it was a fun addition to an amazing day. Lunch was at a local restaurant with the food presented to us on arrival, so there is no choice of what to have but it filled our stomachs. The restaurant had a lovely vibe & I recommend sitting inside. Water & snacks were provided for the journey as advertised We loved every second of the day & if you book to go I hope you will love it as much as we did

Our guide Abdul was fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful. Abdul went above and beyond for us, detoured so we could get coffee, helped us find and tie head scarves and took some great photos and reels. Our desert driver was also great and the lunch meal was huge and delicious. Book with Abdul for an English speaking tour!

It was a great day with a bit of everything - scenic drive through the Western Desert and Fayoum "Oasis", sandboarding on the dunes, super interesting visit to the Valley of the Whales, 4x4 drive up the dunes to a scenic viewpoint over Wadi El Rayan, tasty lunch and good coffee with excellent company from our guide and driver - the two Ibrahims, and 4x4 driver Peter.

Our driver and tour guide Sahar are the best people in Egypt, professional and easy communicated. I wanted pics in certain places and they know exactly where is it, no trouble taking us around the dessert. Everything went smoothly. We had a good time

This trip was absolutely amazing! Sahar is an outstanding guide—professional, attentive, and genuinely client-oriented throughout the entire journey. She was incredibly helpful, always supportive of our needs, and guided us smoothly from start to finish. She also took us to excellent souvenir shops where we bought beautiful jewelry and papyrus paintings. We truly loved the experience. The oasis and sandboarding were the highlights of the trip, and crossing the sand dunes in a 4WD jeep was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! A must-do trip if you are in Cairo!
