Forging new skills

I can't say enough! What a great experience. From start to finish, I had a great learning how to construct my knife and the ingenuity used to progress through each step of the process. Plus, everyone I've showed it to has been impressed and amazed!

Neat experience

Really neat experience. You’ll work with a long-time knife maker in his small forge. Near experience to be part of the knife making process. The guide who met me and translated was great and the knife maker was very friendly. The end product is absolutely beautiful.

Well Worth It.

Friendly people, fun experience, and a high-quality knife at the end of it. I don't know where else you will get to actively participate in the blacksmithing process while they explain it to you. I would highly recommend to anyone even remotely interested. As a heads up, they give you a chance to engrave a short message on the blade, so think about what you might want ahead of time.

Indra, you'll find the master's blacksmithing.

Nepal has a blacksmith culture, just like Japan. You can still touch their handiwork, including horseshoes and knives for everyday items. I took a pick-up taxi from Kathmandu to Mandikhater district, about 20 minutes away, to visit a blacksmith named Indra, heated the steel, and in three to four hours of work I was able to make a very beautiful knife. He really looked up to Mr. Indra and called him "Indra Master" for his excellent work. Your son has taken over the job. This tour was accompanied by a young, well-studying guide who explained to me. For a fee of just under 10,000 yen, they picked me up, paid for the Gurkha knives, gave me guidance from the master, observed my work and even offered me tea. It was a very valuable experience. This is a very beautiful Gurkha knife that can be used for climbing, camping and exploring fields and mountains.

Making your own knife from scrap metal!!

It was amazing to see and participate in making such a quality knife from scrap metal!! The person teaching us was a master!! And he was also a lot of fun. This experience was very unique and I recommend it to small groups or even if you want to go by yourself. Our guide was super professional and took great care of us.

Cucri with your own hands

Interesting experience and a knife to remember. Better than just buying in the store and more interesting than the dawn in Nagarkot. Dress up easy.

Still on a knife making high :)

I booked at the last minute and they were so accommodating, with great communication and patience answering any questions I had. My host was Aachal and she was so friendly, really made the day extra special and fun, with lots of laughs. Blacksmith Indra (uncle) was amazing, interested in the world, nice to meet his family popping in and out, and so good at what he does after making knives for 40 years. So so cool to see the knife making process in action, and to have a hand in it. Fantastic day, great experience, highly recommend.
