Great trip with a great host. Linda was so informative and accommodating.
Great gorge, absolutely plan excursion there. Pure nature. Plan the circular route easily for about 1 h.
This a great hike for seeing the beautiful forest and lakes in the Hokitika region. The foot bridges are well made and get you across the terrain. The glacier fed rivers are a beautiful color of blue. Our guide, Linda, was very knowledgeable and shared information about the land, animals and towns as we drove/hiked through.
Beautiful forest in the gorge with a lovely lake—very nice walk. The treetop walk was fun and beautiful, but the amount of driving between the sites was a bit much.
We had an excellent guide in Linda, who is knowledgeable about the local area, as well as the local fauna. Due to some conflicting joining instructions from Viator, she patiently waited for us at the pick up point. We could have done the Hokitika Gorge and the Tree Top Walk on our own but with a knowledgable local guide like Linda, we learned a lot more about the area as a result.
Excellent walks and views and a good guide. The only problem was everything was a bit rushed with no time for refreshments
Linda took us to the gorge and the trees. We could have driven ourselves, but we already do so many kilometers here that it is nice to be transported. We also got a lot of explanations from her about nature, history, agriculture etc. They are two beautiful short walks.
Excellent day with great local knowledge from Linda. Short day trip where we saw alot of local sites with good insights provided from our guide.
A wonderful visual tour with a super friendly and knowledgable guide! The tour was not physically demanding anth views were extraordinary!
We had an amazing morning with Linda our guide! It was very rainy in Hokitika so unfortunately the road to the gorge was out of action. Linda was efficient in rearranging the day, taking us first to the treetop walk and then to the Ross goldfields instead. The treetop walk was gorgeous, the views were beautiful and as the clouds cleared we could see the snow capped mountains in the background. The gold panning experience at Ross was lots of fun and we got a lovely souvenir from it. Her passion for the area was infectious and her knowledge about local history, wildlife, plants, and fish and chip shops was extensive. We had such a great morning and feel like we gained a real insight into the west coast. Big thanks to Linda for making the day happen despite the weather!
