Although we signed up for this event, we were changed to one with an additional boat ride around 10,000 Islands and only one hike. We are so glad for the change. The additional boat ride was the absolute highlight of our trip. We saw a sawtooth fish, baby bull sharks, a crocodile, and had dolphins play in the wake of our boat. Could not recommend this company more, 10 out of 10.
Our guides, Ryan was superb and made the trip exceptionally memorable.
Had a wonderful day exploring Everglades National Park snd Big Cypress National Preserve with Addie of Wild Lime Adventures! I picked this tour because our guide was a naturalist and they said their tours were authentic Not “touristy”! It was even better than expected-they picked me up from my hotel in South Beach and provided interesting information on the development of Miami on the way to the Everglades, then interesting information on the Native American tribes that live here-the Miccosukee (part of the larger Seminole tribe) before we took an airboat ride operated by the tribe) onthe River of Grass -saw so much wildlife-great blue herons, alligators! Next had a wonderful lunch-Mahi Mahi sandwich-at a quaint cafe in Everglades City; the second boat ride to see The Thousand Islands and learn how some were made by ancient tribes of oyster shells! Our guide introduced us to a baby crocodile he’d befriended in the wild, and dolphins played in the wake of our boat; after the trip went to a general store that has been operating there since the 1900’s. Last stop was a hike in Big Cypress Bald to a cypress dome-saw the resident alligator, flora and fauna and a few Cotten Mouth snakes thanks to a 12 year old boy who was on our trip and LOVED snakes and kept us all entertained with his various creature discoveries and his knowledge. Ou guide Addie was terrific, so knowledgeable and also entertaining with her stories of various adventures hiking in the Everglades. It is a wild and wondrous place and I’m so thankful I got to experience it with people who love history and nature like I do!
Great to see the variety of diverse ecosystems and landscapes and learn about the Miccosukee and Seminole Indians and how they used the plants.
The whole tour was fantastic. The tour guide Enoch was super informative, he knew all about the different birds, plants, critters, and reptiles. He kept the tour going at a comfortable pace and made everyone at ease.
I had a fantastic experience with this Everglades tour company. Unlike many “touristy” excursions, this felt like a genuine journey into nature. Our guide, E, was incredibly thorough, sharing a wealth of fascinating information about the wildlife and ecosystem without ever making it feel scripted or rushed. We had plenty of time to truly appreciate the breathtaking beauty of the Everglades, and the relaxed pace let us soak it all in. This wasn’t just a tour—it was an immersive experience that left me with a deep appreciation for the area. Highly recommended if you want something real and memorable! Ben at the office answered multitude of questions to help select the tour that was the best for us. Wild Lime Adventures truly stands out !
We are thrilled the tour lived up to expectations for you! Thanks for leaving this kind and thorough review. And for mentioning that you felt the trip was "not scripted" and that it was a natural and relaxing immersive trip into the area. That's exactly what we hope to experience with our guests, so that comment truly makes us happy. Thank you!
Elijah showed up at our hotel completely ready for the day. He greeted us with a smile and a confident welcome. We had been scheduled to go on a boat ride, but were given the opportunity to change to a kayak tour and we are so glad we did! After being treated to a local Cuban coffee, we drove out to the Everglades National Park with incredible descriptions and historical perspective provided by Elijah. There were four of us on the tour; my husband and myself, and a father and his son traveling together. Although we were far different in age, Elijah was able to provide an entire day of fantastic insights into the wildlife, flora, and park history. He shared fascinating vignettes about the Everglades NP early days and Ernest Coe and the other visionaries who worked so hard to preserve the unique tropical environment. During our two hour kayak tour of Buttonwood Canal we saw crocodiles, alligators and two manatees plus over 20 varieties of bird life. Elijah shared his expert level information regarding all of them in Layman's terms that was easy to understand. Getting into and out of the kayaks was easy with the help of dock men and steady advice of Elijah. The van we traveled around the park in, was modern and comfortable and the provided lunch, snacks, and ice-cold water were wonderful. We enjoyed “Cubano” sandwiches as we searched for manatees on the shore of the small town of Flamingo. The three hikes were leisurely and informative. We felt enriched and grateful, by both the park and Elijah’s descriptions. Although happily exhausted when Elijah dropped us off at our hotel, we had one of the best experiences in a National Park we have ever had! Thank you Lime Adventures for having such a professional guide and program! Elijah is a true Educator and you are lucky to have him! WE were so lucky to spend the day with such an incredible naturalist! Highly recommend this tour to anyone who not only wants to have a fun day, but also wants to learn about the Everglades National Park!
Wow, thank you so much for this amazingly thorough review and for mentioning your guide, Elijah! He's amazing. We're glad you enjoyed the kayaking trip and got to see both alligators and crocodiles! We're thrilled to hear that this is one of the best experiences you've had in a National park, that is our goal! Thank you very much for coming.
Great tour, our guide was very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the Everglades and Southern Florida it was a great experience.
Wild Lime upgraded our tour to the 2 boat rides and 2 hikes. Mike was a fantastic guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour.
I picked Wild Lime Adventures because our group of 4 adults wanted to go with a naturalist guide. We wanted to see as much 'nature' as possible. We wanted a guide who could spot wildlife and explain as much as possible. We also wanted to be comfortable. Our guide was Stacey. .She has a Ph.d in marine biology and has lived in Florida for many years. She was outstanding in every way. Her 'eagle eyes' found birds, alligators, plants that none of us would ever have seen on our own. And her knowledge of the wildlife as well as the history of Great Cypress and the Everglades was simply amazing. As part of our trip, we went on a boat ride into the Mangroves near Everglade City. Also outstanding. We traveled in a very comfortable mini-bus. I cannot recommend this company enough. They more than delivered everything they promised.
You are so very nice to leave us this most kind and thorough review. We loved going out there with you, and seeing so much with you! Stacy very much appreciates your comments as well. Pehraps we'll meet again one day. We hope so!
