ETNA & TAORMINA **ATTENZIONE: Tour disponibile SOLO con partenza da Catania Tour non disponibile per crocieristi L'Etna è il più alto vulcano attivo terrestre della placca euroasiatica. Le sue frequenti eruzioni nel corso della storia hanno modificato, a volte anche profondamente, il paesaggio circostante, arrivando più volte a minacciare le popolazioni insediate intorno a esso. Il Comitato UNESCO, ha inserito il Monte Etna nell'elenco dei beni costituenti il Patrimonio dell'umanità. Taormina è una famossisima città turistica meta anche di artisti, scrittori e intellettuali (fra questi vi soggiornarono Goethe e Truman Capote). Particolarmente amata non solo per la bellezza paesaggistica e il fantastico panorama, ma anche per la sua “dolce vita”, permissività e trasgressione. Itinerario
Avrete la possibilità di scoprire in una sola giornata le bellezze del nostro vulcano e la splendida Taormina, dopo il pick-up nella città di CATANIA ecco che si parte: Prima Tappa :Passeggiando tra boschi secolari, crateri eccentrici e singolari formazioni laviche (di solito i Monti Sartorius o i crateri formatisi nel 2002 sul versante Nord-Est dell’Etna), la nostra guida naturalistica vi introdurrà all’affascinante mondo dei fenomeni vulcanici. Seconda tappa : Esplorerete una grotta di origine vulcanica (ad esempio la “Grotta dei Ladroni” o la “Grotta Cassone”) forniti dell’equipaggiamento necessario (caschetti e torce). Nel periodo invernale la visita alla grotta non viene effettuata in caso di notevole innevamento o presenza di ghiaccio all’ingresso che renderebbe pericoloso l’ingresso. Terza tappa : Se le condizioni meteorologiche lo permettono, avrete modo di fare uno snack a base di ‘tavola calda’ tipica Siciliana. In caso contrario, il pranzo avrà luogo al chiuso presso un grazioso agriturismo di montagna.
Quarta tappa : Nel pomeriggio raggiungerete Taormina dove, in autonomia, potrete visitare il suo corso elegante che separa le porte medievali della città, Porta Catania e Messina. Sarete provvisti di una mappa contenente tutte le indicazioni sui luoghi più importanti da visitare. La guida vi aspetterà all’entrata del paese (in prevalenza area pedonale) per il rientro a Catania. Durante l’escursione, raggiungerete un’altitudine massima di 2000 mt (area di competenza delle nostre guide naturalistiche).

- Vi ricordiamo di calzare scarpe chiuse (sportive o da trekking) con calzettoni, e di portare un giubbotto invernale in quanto la temperatura in quota è più bassa di 10-15°C circa rispetto a Catania.
- Vi consigliamo inoltre, in caso di neve, di portare un paio di calzettoni di ricambio. Ciaspole e bastoncini saranno forniti da noi. Se pensate di non essere ben equipaggiati, informateci al momento della prenotazione. Forniremo noi in quel caso scarpe e giacche.
- Ricordate inoltre di portare con voi una bottiglietta d’acqua per dissetarvi durante il trekking.
- In funzione delle esigenze del gruppo e delle condizioni meteorologiche il percorso potrebbe subire delle piccole variazioni a favore di un perfetto andamento della giornata per tutti. Inoltre, in caso di condizioni o avvenimenti indipendenti dalla nostra volontà e non prevedibili, la guida può scegliere di apportare alcune variazioni all’itinerario e il suo giudizio è insidacabile.

- Adatto a Tutti (Sconsigliamo di prendere parte alle escursioni a coloro che non godono di buone condizioni di salute, specialmente a chi soffre di patologie all’apparato cardio-respiratorio. Sconsigliamo inoltre questo tipo di escursione ai bambini sotto i 10 anni.)

We had an absolutely exceptional experience visiting Mount Etna. It was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Mirco, stands out for his enormous sympathy, professionalism and knowledge. Always available and attentive, made the whole experience even more enriching and pleasant. The group we shared this adventure with was equally fantastic — fun, relaxed and with great energy, which contributed to very special moments. This was an amazing and very informative tour. It was a little more challenging than I expected due to heavy snowfall on the volcano, but we were given boots and extra jackets if needed. The lunch and wine was fantastic! More food than we could eat!

Giovanni was an excellent and exuberant guide. So nice to have someone so passionate and knowledgeable about our 'adventure'. The trek up the 'craters' was a bit difficult ( 3 in their 60s and 1 70 y/o) but worth it. The lava tube was really cool. Even had a bat fly by our heads!! Food at the wine area was very good and varied with several local foods. Only issue was communication from Viator as to where to meet for the tour. Left several messages/emails and did not hear until the day before. This is unfortunately typical for Viator in my experience. Still I would highly recommend this tour and ask for Giovanni if possible.
