We learned about the history of coffee in Vietnam and totally did not realize Vietnam is the second biggest exporter of coffee beans after Brazil in the world. We also learned about the different types of beans and how to use our senses to enjoy coffee. Our instructor taught us to make drip coffee and Phin coffee and how beans are roasted step by step. I highly recommend this course. It was 2.5 hours but it did not feel long. I had some basic knowledge of drip coffee but even then, I learned so much from the course. Lacaph is also the best cafe in HCM we had tried (please try their salt coffee!), we went there three times in our trip and bought their own Phin filter and beans back home.
Overall amazing experience with Sui. She is very passionate at her job and is such a good teacher. Learned a lot from this class! Highly recommended
A lovely egg coffee at Lacaph from Hieu and my wife tried one she's not tried before which was gorgeous. Definitely recommend this place to try if you love your coffee and a nice cocktail bar adjacent.
Very interesting learning about the history of coffee culture in Vietnam. You get to learn how to brew 2 types of coffee with two different methods and learn the ratios for how to make the perfect coffee with condensed milk. Great way to spend a morning! Note that you don't make any specialty coffees on this experience but you can buy one downstairs after and they explain how they make them as you watch.
Julia and Bamboo introduced us to Vietnamese coffee culture in an exciting and interactive workshop.
If you love coffee, you have to take this class to learn and appreciate Vietnamese coffee history and culture. Kieu taught us the commonly used brewing methods in Vietnam plus the evolution of their coffee culture and drinks in Vietnam. If you are vegan, good news, the coffee beans used are not roasted in butter. Let them know you are vegan though because they include honey and dairy in the ingredients to be used so they can swap it with alternatives.
They went above and beyond; I didn’t expect it. I’ve been to a lot of classes in different countries and this one feels more personal and I got to meet my classmates and knew a little about their backgrounds. I would definitely recommend this class!!
We enjoy our coffee and wanted to experience the Vietnamese coffee culture so booked this experience at La Caph. Outside the building appeared like others in the street then step inside and up a set of stairs to find a hip l store and cafe. We had the opportunity to brew pour over coffee using the V60 and the phin. We learnt about the types of coffee plants growing in Vietnam and exports. Ví, our instructor for the day, was knowledgeable and was a great teacher. If you enjoy your coffee then I would recommend considering adding this experience to your itinerary.
Great setting with a very nice presentation. It's the perfect length to learn a little about the Vietnamese coffee and coffee culture.
Amazing coffees we had. They use high quality of Vietnamese coffee beans. The staff there are nice and also have knowledge about coffee industry. Khoa and Sy are 2 of staff that often serve me there. Both are friendly and lovely. Must try: Salted coffee
