Pronto a librarti sul battito cardiaco reale di Città del Messico, non sulla versione da cartolina? Abbiamo costruito un'esperienza condivisa per piccoli gruppi a Iztapalapa, uno dei quartieri più autentici del CDMX, ricco di cibo di strada, tradizioni locali, cultura urbana e storia radicata. Partiamo da Downtown e guidiamo la metropolitana di Città del Messico come gente del posto mentre disfacciamo come si muove questa megalopoli (e perché conta più di quanto si pensi). Successivamente, ci fermeremo in un museo locale per capire la storia di Iztapalapa e il suo ruolo di motore della cultura comunitaria. Poi arriva lo showstopper : la Cable Car Line 2, un percorso riconosciuto dalla Guinness conosciuto come la linea di funivia urbana più lunga del mondo, che offre viste panoramiche mozzafiato sulla valle mentre scivoliamo sopra la città. Tra una giostra e l’altra, passiamo alla “modalità locale”: un mercato di quartiere per tacos davvero buoni, e concludiamo con un brindisi di pulque, una bevanda tradizionale pre-ispanica, perché il tuo viaggio a Città del Messico merita almeno una storia che i tuoi amici non avranno.

Vuoi volare su un lato di Città del Messico che la maggior parte dei viaggiatori non vede mai? Abbiamo progettato un'esperienza fuori dai sentieri battuti di Iztapalapa: uno sguardo reale alla vita quotidiana del CDMX, pieno di cibo di strada, cultura locale e radici profonde che risalgono agli Aztechi. Lontano dalla bolla turistica, questo quartiere è una delle zone più dinamiche della città, dove street art, progetti comunitari e nuovi spazi pubblici stanno attivamente rimodellando la sua identità. In breve: autentica Città del Messico, dall’alto e da vicino – e sì, batterà un’altra “solita” foto del Centro.
Questa avventura inizia nel centro di Città del Messico, proprio fuori dal Palacio de Bellas Artes. Da lì, saliremo sulla metropolitana e ci dirigeremo verso i sobborghi, utilizzando gli stessi mezzi di trasporto su cui si basano i locali, mentre analizzeremo come funziona la mobilità in una delle più grandi città del mondo (e perché modella la vita quotidiana qui).
Durante il tour, attraverseremo Città del Messico e Iztapalapa utilizzando la metropolitana di Città del Messico, la spina dorsale della vita quotidiana qui. Lungo la strada, ti farai un'idea reale delle routine locali e imparerai perché la metropolitana non è solo trasporto, è il sistema che mantiene in funzione questa megalopoli.
Successivamente, visiteremo un museo locale per immergerci nella storia di Iztapalapa e nella sua tradizione culturale più iconica: un'epica esibizione della Settimana Santa guidata dalla comunità, conosciuta come una delle più grandi del suo genere al mondo.
Dopodiché arriva l'evento principale: viaggeremo sulla funivia di Città del Messico e planeremo sopra le strade per una vista panoramica sulla valle, con un posto in prima fila per la colorata street art della zona e la scala del CDMX dal cielo.
Faremo una sosta al mercato per provare un classico locale di taco: semplice, autentico e delizioso.
Infine, torneremo a casa in metropolitana, concludendo il nostro viaggio in un bar locale del centro, per brindare con una bevanda preispanica: la bevanda degli dei.

A safe flight over the working-class neighborhoods of Mexico City with our guide Ramón, native of Iztapalapa. He gave us a lot of information about the evolution of the neighborhood from the 1980s to the present. Dinner in a typical market was a great experience. Ramon was thoughtful and very kind. We highly recommend this experience.
Had a great time on the CableCar tour, Aaron was an excellent guide! We saw a lot of things we otherwise wouldn't have gotten around to: multiple forms of public transit, local market experience, pulque, and more. Learned a lot about the history and culture, and he answered all our questions. Highly recommend!
Aaron was an amazing guide! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Tour was great. Rode the metro and car cable, ate great food at a stop along the way and ended with some pulque. Highly recommend this tour if you want to learn about Mexico.
Ramon was a delightful tour guide. The excursion led us through the subway & the blue line cable bus where we were treated to a local market and delicious lunch. Along the way Ramon explained many important historical facts as well as explanations of local culture & things important to Mexican people. Experiencing the city this way is highly recommended if you truly enjoy understanding the culture! Culmination of our little journey at Garabaldi square where locals hang out. We said cheers @ a pulqueria & said our fairwells then finished our day walking around Historic down town. Enjoyable person to meet, we sincerely loved the conversations!
Ramon gave us a personal and detailed new layer of knowledge about CMX. We were a small group of 5 friends with various interests. Ramon was warm and gave us a sense of walking and talking with a friend. He could answer our questions on history, politics, geology, culture and customs …. Travelling on transit and walking less touristed paths (we didn’t see another group all day) with someone that was proudly describing their home was a highlight of our time here. Food was great, drink was … interesting! Thank you so much, 10/10!
Had a great experience. Learnt lots of interesting things and benefitted from the small group size. Ramon was a great guide and told us so many interesting things about Mexico City and Iztapalapa.
Highly recommend this tour! We had both +70 year olds and 7 year old and everyone got something from the experience. This really helps gather perspective of how large and diverse the city is. We would have never explored on our own and learned so much about the history and present day.
I must say thanks to Cecilia who was very knowledgable and spoke both English/Spanish very well...for the amazing tour .All the places in the tour were interesting including travel by metro but obviously cablebus ride was the most enjoyable part..we had food in a local market in the Iztapalapa area and the local Mexican drink Pulque at the end of tour at Garibaldi ,both were very authentic ..I would recommend this tour especially with Cecilia any day ...
From start to finish the tour was well executed. Cecilia gave an excellent introduction at the meeting location of what to expect and she delivered. She was not rushed and answered all our questions. Unlike routine tour of museums this tour presented an interesting cultural overview of real places and real people. Would definitely highly recommend.
