A Hautvillers, ci fermeremo anche sulle colline storiche della Champagne, dichiarate Patrimonio dell'Umanità dall'UNESCO, per godere del magnifico panorama dello Champagne che si affaccia sulla Valle della Marna, il luogo in cui Dom Pérignon ha condotto i suoi esperimenti di vinificazione. È il luogo ideale nel cuore dei vigneti per scattare foto indimenticabili di te e di questo paesaggio mozzafiato. Visiteremo la prima delle 2 famiglie di produttori/coltivatori indipendenti che scoprirete durante questa giornata con spiegazioni sul processo di produzione dello Champagne, visita dei torchi, delle cantine e delle cantine. Assaggerai lì, durante una degustazione commentata, 3 diversi Champagne Premier Cru*. *a seconda della stagione e della disponibilità, questa visita/degustazione potrà svolgersi in un villaggio della "Côte des Blancs" o ad Aÿ-Champagne.

Questa zona della Champagne è chiamata il "Regno dello Chardonnay Grand Cru". Assaggerai 3 Champagne 100% Grand Cru con consigli di degustazione per scoprire i diversi "Blanc de Blancs" come Champagne naturali senza dosaggio, extra brut, da vigne vecchie, millesimati o anche invecchiati in botti di rovere. Absolutely brilliant day - can’t speak highly enough of it. Philippe is an expert in his field and he spent the day showing and telling us everything he knew about champagne making. We started at the vines and moved right through the entire process, on the ground and in the cellars of smaller, artisanal houses in the countryside around Epernay. Sure, do a few of the big houses, but if you want passion and craft this tour is for you.

Just wanted to say that we had a wonderful time with our guide Marine. The day went by so fast, and we learned a lot (and tasted a lot too). Lunch was unexpected, but also wonderful. The houses were terrific, it was great to see the modern vs. the old-fashioned way of making champagne. Marine's driving style is also fantastic, we never had a moment where we didn't feel safe. Hope to see her next year (we plan on coming back)!

We had an excellent day with our guide, Julie. She was so knowledgeable and friendly. She took us around the region and showed us many places we would have never discovered on our own. She more exceeded our expectations. Our lunch was wonderful, all the champagnes were also very good. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because of the very uncomfortable car! It was very difficult to get in and out with only the 2 doors. For the price we paid, we should have had a four door vehicle with more comfort. This was not a car for us in our 50s/60s.

We have 5 different vehicles and it is clearly indicated in the tour details before booking that if you prefer a classic car like a Minivan or Van just let us know because we have for couples a red electric E-Mehari which is a modern reissue of an iconic French vehicle which is very popular but actually a little raised jeep type. Because we were so looking forward to visiting Epernay in the Champagne region, we splurged hoping this was one of those experiences that is ultimately worth the cost (720 Euros) Unfortunately, it was not the Gold experience we had hoped for. The private tour itself was pretty good, but the lunch that was provided was so very basic - bread, with very average cheese & charcuterie - so disappointing and definitely not the "Gold" experience we expected. The tour operator didn't accept our feedback, saying that others who had done this tour had no issues. Oh well, lesson learned!
Thank you for your message and I am sorry, you could have asked for more if it did not suit you or was not enough, we can do it without problem. We have been doing this for 6 years without any comment because we adapt on site without problem if you wish on request and it is also clearly indicated that lunch is not planned in a restaurant but in a champagne and food bar. You didn't like the lunch but you told me in another message that you really liked your guide, the visits and the Champagnes you tasted and that you had also made some purchases of fantastic Champagnes , which delighted us because that's the main thing! Your opinion on the food is very personal and our experience of this tour over the years has been complete satisfaction.
Isabelle picked us up with her electric E-Mehari jeep at our hotel in Epernay. We had a great day starting with Hautville for a guided tour of the Church of Dom Pérignon and the vineyard. She made sure we were there before it got busy. After that we visited 2 familie/independent houses were we tasted of course different champagnes. In between we had a delicious lunch with a bottle of champagne from the village were we ate. Driving through small villages and stopping at various points for beautiful views of the region. Ending in Ay with a tasting of various champagne aperitifs before we returned to Epernay.
