La Sweet & Spicy Experience è un tour nel mondo dei due prodotti alimentari più famosi della Calabria: La dama rossa, la cipolla rossa di Tropea, e la Regina di Calabria, la Nduja di Spilinga. Due vere star in cucina, amate dai più grandi chef nazionali e internazionali. La Cipolla Rossa di Tropea, nota per la sua dolcezza, è un umile ingrediente della tradizione contadina calabrese dalle molteplici proprietà curative. La Nduja, tradizionale salame speziato spalmabile dal gusto intenso e unico, simboleggia un’intera regione. Durante le esperienze dolci e piccanti, gli ospiti visiteranno una fattoria di cipolle e una fabbrica di Nduja, scoprendo tutte le fasi di coltivazione, gli input di produzione e il ciclo di vita di piante e animali. Imparare ad accoppiare e come usarli in cucina. Degustazione di una selezione top di entrambi i prodotti direttamente nelle aziende agricole.

We had a wonderful time visiting the onion farm and the Nduja plant. We learned all about how they harvest the seeds, plant and grow the onions, and why they are so different from other onions. At the Nduja plant we were able to go inside, with protective gear, and see them processing the meat, smoking the sausages, and packaging up everything for retail sales. It was very interesting to learn so much about the two specialties of Calabria. Enzo, our guide, is a gem and is very knowledgeable about the area.

Such an interesting tour of the Tropean onion fields and tasting of unique products. This was followed by a visit to the Nduja factory! Delicious on bread and so many other ways. Enzo who owns the business, is extremely informative, helpful and kind. We learned so much.

Our tour was led by Enzo who made this experience worthwhile before we reached the Tropea Onion fields and the Nduja factory. The Tropean onions are unique and we learned why. Ndjua is delicious. Great to learn how its made and how to use it.
