Excellent high end Thai food. Beautiful setting and wonderful service. Expensive but as expected and compared to other hotels in this category in Bangkok very reasonable. All the food we had was incredible. Stars at the hotel for a week and ate here twice.

On the whole it was a lovely experience. There was initially some confusion about the booking and we were moved when they realised we had previously reserved the dinner and show. The food was amazing really lovely set menu and lots of food for 2 persons and the service was excellent . The atmosphere was lovely sitting by the river watching the cruise boats going along and partying. There was only 2 dance routines intermittently between courses which wasn’t for very long so if you wanted more traditional culture this would not have been enough.

I was conned into believing a reasonably long cultural dance show. We managed to see two stints lasting approx 1 to 2 minutes. Verydisappointed
Dear Vinod, I am sorry how were you conned? Its a show after dinner which is clear on the website and is longer than 1 minute as you suggest. If this was the case why not say anything to the team as after checking you did not mention anything to any of the staff. We welcome reviews but please be truthful as CCTV is readily available Thanks Paul

Having lived and worked in Thailand for more than 50 years, taking foreign visitors to the Salathip is one way of impressing them with the beauty, culture, and savory food of Thailand. The restaurant is on the Chao Phraya River, with lots of windows to see the river throughout the meal. My most recent visit was on 21 September 2022 with a guest from my alma mater, Syracuse University. She had never been to Thailand before. We sat indoors (it's the wet season and rains often) but had a perfect view of the Chao Phraya River, the dinner cruising river boats, the rice barges, and other river activities. The traditional Thai dancing provided by university students is always a nice touch. Not too much and not too little. The food was very Thai and perfect. The service provided by Bunny and her team, Jom, Pooky, Pree, and Imm was excellent. The restaurant was nearly full, but the team did an outstanding job in ensuring that my guest and I were well taken care of. Thank you Salathip for another rewarding night and an impressive presentation of Thailand.

I was two years ago in April 2019 for dinner and then lunch in this wonderful restaurant, during my stay at Shangri-La. The courtesy of MJ, Joe and Jeab stood out among all: it is also thanks to them that I keep a beautiful memory of this place and its dishes, expertly recommended.

Stunning river side location.Beautiful decor and a warm welcome.Food was fabulous and authentic.Service was world class and we were made to feel very welcomed.Dancing was a lovely surprise.The entire evening was perfect and prices very reasonable.We cannot wait to return to Bangkok.MJ/JOE/NP & RUN all made the evening one will never forget so thank you

We were there for dinner at the end of February. As die-hard fans of Shangri La Hotels, we were totally disappointed: the food was still ok, but the Service was underground: unmotivated, inattentive and unprofessional! The waiters didn't get along on their own and always had to be called when you needed something - the restaurant wasn't full! Only the Salathip's location is incomparable - but does not outweigh the poor Service and average food! Very disappointing!
