Ecco le cave di sillari che dipingono di bianco la città di Arequipa. Sebbene la zona sia nota per lavorare qui la materia prima dell'architettura della Città Bianca, la pietra vulcanica, riunisce anche alcuni dei paesaggi naturali più belli e suggestivi della zona. Seguendo la Ruta del Sillar è possibile osservare il processo di estrazione, intaglio e mega intaglio del sillar, una pietra bianca che predomina nell'architettura tradizionale della città di Arequipa. Questo percorso ha le infrastrutture necessarie e servizi turistici di qualità per considerarlo tra le principali attrazioni della regione. Tra le principali attività che si possono svolgere nel luogo vi sono i laboratori di interpretazione, con la presenza di tagliatori di conci.

Faremo una sosta in una piazza o in un punto principale come introduzione per apprezzare i vulcani e la campagna di Arequipeña, dopo poco tempo ci dirigeremo verso la Ruta del Sillar dove si trovano le principali attrazioni.
Nel Cerro Colorado ci sono le cave di bugnato che dipingono di bianco la città di Arequipa. Sebbene la zona sia conosciuta perché qui si lavora la materia prima per l'architettura della Città Bianca, la pietra vulcanica, essa riunisce anche alcuni dei paesaggi naturali più belli e imponenti della zona. Qui imparerai il processo di estrazione. Oltre ad apprezzare i vari intagli. Seguendo il Cammino del Sillar potrai osservare il processo di estrazione, intaglio e mega intaglio del sillar, una pietra bianca che predomina nell'architettura tradizionale della città di Arequipa. Questo percorso dispone delle infrastrutture necessarie e dei servizi turistici di qualità per essere considerato tra le principali attrazioni della regione. Qui a questo punto sono conosciute tutte le opere artistiche su bugnato realizzate fino ai giorni nostri. Il viaggio in mobilità è di circa 30 minuti per raggiungere il punto principale e altrettanti tempi per il ritorno.
Un Canyon di formazione naturale composto da Pink Ashlar, un'autentica creazione della natura dove cammineremo con grande attenzione per visitare l'origine della formazione del bugnato. Per arrivare al punto faremo un viaggio di circa 30 minuti all'andata e 30 minuti al ritorno dalle Canteras de Añashuayco. Inoltre, la camminata nel burrone dura circa 25 minuti, lungo il percorso avremo viste impressionanti del bugnato rosa.

The best of my experience in Arequipa, we knew a lot about the origin of the Sillar, and the foundation of Arequipa, the guide was the maximum
It was a worthwhile excursion - very good value for the price & it was very interesting to see the quarry & to do the canyon walk. Disappointed though that we did not see any cutting or carving actually happening when we were there. I think it should also be highlighted that GOOD MOBILITY is needed for the walk. There are some big steps & rocks to navigate, and a steep ramp at the end to exit the walk.
Mixup in pickup location. They sent wrong address and communication did not resolve. Eventually we got to correct spot. Van was a stifling oven. Still interesting especially the walk through slot canyon

The place was nice but I feel the tour guide was a bit in a rush. Also, I asked for English tour and they had to arrange someone else last minute. Make sure to contact them before your tour. Other tours, the agency contacted me.

Took the afternoon session. Went to the stated pickup place which was a closed tour office. 15 mins before the start time received WhatsApp from the tour provider asked to meet at another place. Then received another unknown person WhatsApp message to meet at a different place. WhatsApp the tour provider what’s happening, didn’t reply in time. Met with the unknown person who had our names on her list. She stated that we were changed to another tour provider. Despite of the pick up confusion, nice walk in Culebrillas, reminded me of Antelopes in USA.

Saw something unique to the region. Not mind blowing but interesting. Bus was air conditioned, modern and comfortable. Guide and driver highly professional.
