L'autista e la guida (a seconda dell'opzione scelta) verranno a prendervi direttamente nel luogo concordato: guest house, stazione ferroviaria o terminal crociere. Per facilitare l'incontro, vi accoglierà con un cartello con il vostro nome. Salirete poi a bordo di un veicolo moderno, confortevole e climatizzato per una giornata indimenticabile attraverso la storia.
Dopo circa 2 ore di macchina da Le Havre, si raggiunge Utah Beach, la prima spiaggia liberata dalle truppe americane il 6 giugno 1944. Scoprirete i bunker, i resti del Vallo Atlantico e, a scelta, il museo che ripercorre le operazioni militari. La guida vi spiegherà come le truppe del generale Roosevelt riuscirono a sfondare le difese tedesche subendo perdite relativamente limitate. ➡️ Un passo che introduce perfettamente la giornata, mostrando la strategia alleata e l'importanza di questa spiaggia.
Dopo un viaggio di 40 minuti si arriva a Pointe du Hoc. Questo spettacolare sito, arroccato su scogliere alte 30 metri, testimonia ancora oggi la violenza dei combattimenti. I crateri delle bombe e i bunker in rovina ricordano l'eroico assalto dei ranger americani che scalarono la scogliera sotto il fuoco nemico. ➡️ Un luogo suggestivo e carico di emozioni, che illustra il coraggio dei soldati.
In soli 15 minuti di auto si raggiunge Omaha Beach, soprannominata "Bloody Omaha". Questa spiaggia rimane uno dei luoghi più toccanti dello sbarco in Normandia. Qui le truppe americane subirono le perdite più ingenti, mentre si scontravano con le formidabili difese tedesche. Camminare su questa spiaggia significa sentire la storia e comprendere il premio della libertà. Pausa pranzo: avrete la possibilità di mangiare sul posto (panini, spuntini veloci) oppure, se preferite, di godervi un piccolo ristorante tipico lungo la strada, selezionato per la sua genuinità e la cucina locale. ➡️ Un momento clou della giornata, intriso di storia e convivialità.
Infine, dopo soli 10 minuti di auto, si raggiunge il cimitero americano di Colleville-sur-Mer, di fronte a Omaha Beach. Questo luogo commemorativo rende omaggio agli oltre 9.000 soldati americani caduti durante la battaglia di Normandia. Lì potrete ammirare gli allineamenti perfetti delle croci bianche, il monumento commemorativo, la cappella e la vista mozzafiato sul mare. ➡️ Una visita toccante, che invita alla contemplazione e alla riflessione sul sacrificio di un'intera generazione.

Absolutely brilliant. Our tour guide Mathilde was a wealth of knowledge and fascinating local insights. Our driver Modjy was pleasant, courtious and very professional. Our group of seven (ages 4 to 67) all came away eager to do individual research in order to gain a deeper understanding of the events that Mathilde had introduced us to. We spent 10 hours with Mathilde and Modjy and every minute was fascinating and a joy. Highly recomended, a most rewarding day.

An excellent driver, Adel, with a great tour guide, Sunny. Picked the 6 of us up at the cruise ship for a drive to Normandy. Sunny was very good at giving g us information about the country side we were passing through, the areas we were to visit and WWII . Did not rush us and gave us options. Incredible day with private tour guide who helped us understand all the intricacies and details of the D-Day planning, landings, and battles. Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, Pont Du Hoc, bunkers, craters, hedgerows, and more. The Memorial was particularly special as we explored the chapel, cross headstones, and the wall of names of soldiers who have not yet been found. Our guide helped me contact the Visitor Center to arrange a remembrance of my grandfather's best friend who survived D-Day but died a month later. (I had not known to arrange it prior to the trip). We sanded his stone with sand from Omaha Beach (to help his name stand out in pictures) and placed an American and French flag at his grave. Such an amazing experience with my daughter! And the hospitality was incredible- we even stopped for omelettes and gallettes. We also added a round-trip transfer to and from our cruise port for added convenience and were so glad we did. Great trip!
