Questo tour ti porterà nel tempo proprio come ha fatto Diana con la sua trama di Outlander. Scopriremo insieme l'ispirazione che ha tratto da questi luoghi speciali proprio qui nelle Highlands. Paesaggi mozzafiato, monumenti storici, laghi famosi, castelli, giardini e distillerie. Questo tour ti regalerà una vera esperienza nelle Highland scozzesi. Ricordati di portare con te la macchina fotografica… Non so cosa sia un Sassannach, vieni a scoprirlo :) Go Highlands si rivolge solo a piccoli gruppi fino a 7 persone nei nostri tour, il che significa che avrai sempre la migliore esperienza in assoluto.

Pietre che risalgono a circa 4000 anni (sì 4000) più vecchie delle piramidi ... Tocca la più grande ... ecco cosa ha fatto Claire! Ti sfido :)
Qui è dove finisce la prima serie... la Battaglia di Culloden, vedi il piccolo hoose Claire che si trasforma in un piccolo ospedale improvvisato, poi i ragazzi lo usano per nascondersi. Un luogo solenne, l'ultima battaglia combattuta tra scozzesi, clan, inglesi e anche qualche irlandese
Qui avrai anche una vista favolosa di Loch Ness e avrai la possibilità di scendere sulle sue sponde nella speranza di vedere il "Cavallo d'acqua" che ha così incantato Claire Randall (o Nessie, come è meglio conosciuta da queste parti!)
A questa fermata ci prenderemo del tempo per assaggiare questo premiato Gin. Prendendo il nome dalla faglia che divide le Highlands, la nostra distilleria si procura ingredienti naturali e locali per darti un piccolo assaggio dei nostri maestosi dintorni. Great Glen è la distilleria artigianale più recente e, con orgoglio, più piccola della Scozia. Sfruttando gli elementi di un luogo selvaggio, questo gin morbido e terroso è una lettera d'amore alla natura.
Il castello di Urquhart è probabilmente uno dei castelli più fotografati della Scozia, risalente al 13° secolo circa (ma ha reperti di insediamenti sul sito risalenti alla preistoria). La sua posizione sul Loch offre lo sfondo perfetto per vedere e fotografare Loch Ness ( con o senza il mostro).
Il bellissimo villaggio di Beauly era dove Claire e Jamie si stavano dirigendo all'inizio della prima stagione. Beauly Priory era una comunità monastica di Valliscaulian situata a "Insula de Achenbady", ora Beauly, Inverness-shire. Probabilmente fu fondata intorno al 1230. Non si sa con certezza chi fosse il fondatore, diverse fonti danno Alessandro II di Scozia o John Byset.

Best excursion ever! Sarah was so friendly, funny, and so knowledgeable! The small group was just perfect, and Sarah was able to tailor the trip to the guests' needs and wants.

Our tour guide, Sarah, picked us up & dropped us off at cruse port. She did an outstanding job & was extremely knowledgeable. It is a must do if in the area.
We loved this tour! Although it was a cold, rainy June day, it let us know how the locals feel there. Saw beautiful places, and learned a lot from our knowledgeable tour guide George, who also has a good sense of humor. I would hands down recommend it to anyone, and would take the tour again if traveling with a friend.
We spent a wonderful day in Inverness with Sarah! She was extremely knowledgeable with her tour and the history or legends that went with each site - nice being with a local! She picked us up at the port and got us back in plenty of time. She had a great personality and this made for us to have a wonderful day. Definitely recommend her and Go Highlands tours.
Book this tour. Now. Full stop. George is like an old Scottish friend that you wanna hang out with, drink whiskey & learn all you can about his homeland Inverness & all things Scottish whilst teasing him about being known everywhere you go. What was to be a 4 person trip became a private tour w/ my sister and I, George & his wee dog, Leo. We overstayed at Clava Cairns & Culloden learning all we could; picking George’s endless depths of knowledge & literally getting wrapped up in a kilt. Then on to Great Glen Distillery for-hands down-the best gin I’ve ever had. A bite of soup & onward to Urquhart Castle & more silly questions for my new best friend, George. Then true disappointment when the tour was closing out because he’s a gem & we didn’t want to stop chatting. Nor did we want to say bye to Leo. Grand, grand time. Do this tour. Get George. He’s a wealth of knowledge & a helluva guy, plus the kilt is 👌🏽 We learned more in 6 hrs than I’ve ever learned about Scotland in my life. So hit book. Now. You’ll see what I mean. Thanks, George! Those crazy sisters from Maine.
George was a fantastic guide; had a great, dry humor and was very informative. He made suggestions about a possible change to our itinerary and let our small group decide which option we preferred. I would happily book with him again if returning to the Inverness area.
