Stai per scattare una delle foto più belle della Terra del Fuoco. Verremo a prendervi al vostro hotel e percorreremo 16 chilometri in auto lungo la Strada Nazionale n. 3 fino a raggiungere l'inizio del sentiero. L'avventura inizia! In totale, 9 chilometri (andata e ritorno) ti aspettano a piedi attraverso la foresta: valli glaciali, allevamenti di castori, torbiere e la magia fuegiana che ti accompagna durante tutto il viaggio. Questa passeggiata è considerata di media difficoltà, e non presenta dislivelli significativi.

Faremo una sosta tecnica nella Valle de Lobos dove la guida ci mostrerà (se necessario) il corretto utilizzo e la preparazione dell'equipaggiamento di sicurezza, come ad esempio i ramponi.
Sulla strada per Laguna Esmeralda, una sosta al Mirador del Valle Carbajal vi invita a fermarvi e a contemplare uno dei paesaggi più suggestivi della Terra del Fuoco. Da questo punto panoramico si apre una vasta valle di origine glaciale, ricoperta di torbiere, attraversata da fiumi serpeggianti e circondata dall'imponente catena montuosa della Terra del Fuoco. È il luogo ideale per scattare fotografie, respirare aria fresca e entrare in contatto con la natura nella sua forma più pura. Nelle giornate limpide, il contrasto dei colori e la vastità del paesaggio rendono questa sosta un momento indimenticabile dell'escursione.
L'arrivo alla Laguna Esmeralda è il momento culminante dell'escursione, dove la natura si mostra in tutto il suo splendore. Le sue acque di un verde intenso, alimentate dallo scioglimento del ghiacciaio Ojo del Albino, contrastano con le montagne, le foreste e le torbiere circostanti. When I read the description of this tour, I thought that I would have no problems because all that was indicated was: Not recommended for travelers with back problems, No heart problems or other serious medical conditions, Not recommended for pregnant travelers, Most people can participate, and if you come with inappropriate attire, you will be refused. I complied with all those, and even if I use a walking cane to support my balance, I can still do treks. We even hurried the night before to a gear rental shop to rent proper hiking boots. Unfortunately, when the guide saw my condition on the day of the tour, we were denied participation and I was really sad this happened but I understand that they are just concerned for my safety. They offered a full refund but I did not want the day to go to waste (aside from the boots rental fee which went to waste already) and so they transferred us to the afternoon tour, the Classic 4 x 4 drive to the lakes of Ushuaia and it was a wonderful and enjoyable tour. So fair enough and all's well that ends well.

Ours was about a 90 minute hike each way. It was colder and more wind as we got close to lake. We put on gloves at the lake. Plan on layering and keep clothing change in backpack. Stocking caps never taken off and pulled down over ears for a few sections of hike. Rent boots as the shoes you wear will get muddy and wet! Stretches of hike are over muddy/boggy areas & streams. Part of the trek is up hill over rocky terrain. It is a gorgeous hike with mtn & pastoral vistas. Couple stores in Ushuaia rent the hike boots. Only disappointment was when we got back to meeting point parking lot after the hike had to wait an hour for van pickup. Gascon, our guide, apologized and said should not have happened. Gascon nice and friendly but did not provide much info on the areas we were hiking through. If that is of interest read up before you go.

Our guide Antonela was great and very experienced. She responded very well to the different needs in the group and seemed very competent and professional. Good clothing, good hiking boots and medium fitness are required.

We did Laguna Esmeralda with Fernanda, 4x4 excursion to the lakes with Guille, City tour with Ariel. Excellent guides. They fulfilled everything promised and more.
