Some things were misleading

We were surprised to find that this excursion was part of a large group (40+ people), as we had expected a more private experience for our group of six. Seating on the charter bus was somewhat awkward, as others had reserved seats with personal items, leading to some confusion. At Mt. Titlis, we were given basic directions to reach the summit but were largely left to explore on our own for hours. While we enjoyed some aspects like the rotating gondola and suspension bridge, we missed the snow tubing—which was a key reason we booked. Our guide never mentioned this so we missed it entirely. It was a let down for our group. Overall, the experience felt more self-guided than expected, with little context or insight provided. For the price (~$250), we did not feel it offered good value.

Waste of money

Don’t waste your money. Not enough time to go on this mountain. Started late finished early. Terribl

The mountain experience...

The mountain experience is breathtaking and worth the trip. However, we had a few hiccups which was no fault of the tour so be prepared for the following: - 1) the amount of people on the mountain is insane. Even our tour guide said it was mass populated tourism 2) the flow of people is chaotic and there isn't any organisation 3) we had misprinted tickets so the chair lift ride couldn't be accessed by us when it was clearly advertised as being included 4) the rotator cable doesn't have enough handles to hang on to so when it begins to rock people almost fall (like my elderly father did) 5) there was no organisation for the snow experience and some people missed out altogether

Would highly recommend - it was a very fun afternoon!

We would highly recommend it. The bus ride was very nice. Mount Titlis was wonderful - the glacier cave and the suspension bridge were fantastic. We did not have a clear day so we could not see very far down the mountain unfortunately. The snow tubing was also not open at the time we were there. It was cold - like 20ish degrees - even in September so plan accordingly!

Do it on your own!

They grouped 2 tours on the same bus and the first one started in Zurich so the seating on the bus was what was left over (ie the good seats were gone!). Never saw the tour guides after we got on the gondola to go up the mountain. Basically they were just there and the driver to take us there and back. The itinerary says you will get an hr in Engleberg but you don’t. It says you will get to snow tube but you won’t. No one I spoke to did. They never even told us abt it. All of this can be done by getting on a train and avoiding the traffic and costs. You can easily buy the tickets to Mt Titilus from the base.

Titlus Tour from Lucerne

The tour sights were incredible as Titlus was the best peak we visited. Tour guides helped us make the most of our time at the site. The only negative was the "Viator" website had the wrong meeting location. Because of this we almost missed the tour but fortunately the tour guide communicated and waited for us to arrive which unfortunately caused the tour to leave 10 minutes late. Apparently the meeting location had changed about three months prior.

Great guide, Roberto....

Great guide, Roberto. Funny and made the most of the traffic jam we had heading back. The guided part is really only for the bus trip- the rest is explore on your own (which is actually better!). An amazing place.

Less than expected

Not worth the cost. Was supposed to be limited to 24 and we had over 30. Pickup location was confusing. Guide was fair.

On top of the world

Both our tour guides were great.. were quick to take care of the admin stuff fast enough in order to get the show on the road quickly. Bus used was comfortable and got us to our excursion on time. Once at our location it was amazing.. there were parts were we lost time in trying to figure out where we needed to go / do to get separate activities done before our time limit.. (rope bridge, tubing, ski lift) but we were able to check off these activities, grab a snack and make it to the bus on time. This experience was well worth it.

Do not trust Yo Tours (3rd Party Travel Agency)

Experience was great. Just don't depend on the 3rd party tour agency. I really enjoyed the local tour guide and the whole experience was exactly as described. But I wasn't given the contact info of the tour until I contacted Viator about it and complained. I could have nearly missed the bus where the tour guides were waiting for us but they also did not have any contact info. This is all because Viator depended on a 3rd party travel agency that had some commission and were based in India. Do not trust any listing here. Please check if the company you are paying to is based in the country you are taking the tour. I was shocked to find that it was an Indian company taking commissions for a tour in Switzerland. It was not actually organised by them. It was a local tour company through whom I could have got the whole experience much cheaper. So I feel a bit cheated. But the experience was worth the memory so I am not complaining too hard.
