Escursione di un giorno intero alla Tijuca Forest Challenge (per piccoli gruppi o privata)

Un'escursione impegnativa in una parte molto insolita della foresta di Tijuca, una delle foreste urbane più grandi del mondo. Su questo circuito di sentieri camminerai per ca. 5 ore, per 10,4 km (6,5 mi), con un dislivello di 848 m (2,670 piedi) e scopri la natura e la bellezza della giungla. Raggiungi la collina Taquara (814 m = 2670 piedi), 100 m più alta del Cristo Redentore con viste mozzafiato sulla valle della foresta e sulla città, nelle giornate limpide. Visita le grotte e anche le rovine delle piantagioni di caffè. Dopo l'escursione rinfrescatevi in una cascata* (portare asciugamano/costume da bagno). Sulla strada per il parco, fermati su un'altra vetta per scattare foto e ammirare il paesaggio. Lo scenario di questo tour è fantastico con la natura e tante avventure. Imparerai anche la storia del Brasile, della foresta, delle piantagioni di caffè di quella zona e del rimboschimento avvenuto nel 1800. *La portata sulle cascate varia a seconda della pioggia. *Va anche a Vista Chinesa ma solo nei giorni feriali (nei fine settimana/festivi Vista Chinesa è chiusa al traffico)

Itinerario
Nel Parco nazionale della foresta di Tijuca, visiteremo alcune delle attrazioni più famose come Taunay Waterfall, Vista Chinesa e faremo anche la nostra escursione sul circuito (circa 9 km = 5.6mi) passando da cascate, vette e raggiungendo cime con viste magnifiche, come il castello di Taquara (814 m = 2.670 piedi).
Sulla strada per il Parco Nazionale della foresta di Tijuca guideremo dal Canoas Summit ed è possibile vedere da lontano Pedra da Gávea e Pedra Bonita, che compongono un bel paesaggio.
Nel settore principale della foresta di Tijuca passeremo la maggior parte della giornata. Facendo un'escursione in un circuito ad anello nel profondo della foresta pluviale, sperimenta tutto il suo lussureggiante, passando da fiumi, cascate, picchi e grotte e, alla fine, rinfrescando in una doccia a cascata.
La cascata di Taunay è la cascata più alta e famosa del Tijuca Forest Park. Prima di iniziare l'escursione ci fermeremo per vedere la sua bellezza, sentirne la freschezza e scattare alcune foto. (nuotare in questa cascata non è permesso ma dopo l'escursione visitiamo un'altra caduta dove è possibile fare la doccia).
Guideremo attraverso questa affascinante, piccola e graziosa cappella, costruita nel 1850, quando la foresta di Tijuca era una fattoria del caffè.
Questo è considerato uno dei panorami più belli di Rio e uno dei pochi luoghi della città in cui puoi mettere Christ Redeemer e Sugar Loaf nella stessa cornice. Non si trova nello stesso settore del parco dove faremo l'escursione ma ci fermeremo lì per controllare la vista e scattare alcune foto.

We had a great day hiking in the rainforest around Rio with Gustavo. As well as a guide we got a history teacher, geography teacher and naturalist all in one. He also takes great photos! It is a full day with a lot of uphill so you need to be reasonably fit but the pace was perfect with plenty of stops. Really good communication from Anna when booking and the day before the trip.

Riccardo was the perfect tour guide. We were a group of three people and he shared many interesting insights about the forest and its history, was always very friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. Compared to the half-day tour, this excursion also includes a hike to a peak with two incredible viewpoints (about 300 meters of altitude difference, starting at an altitude of about 500 meters). I would completely recommend this tour if you're interested in leaving the touristic areas of the forest, where all the half-day tours go to, and would like to dive deeper into the forest.

If you're in good shape and up for a challenge, I would highly recommend this hike. Our guide, Gustavo, was kind and thoughtful, giving us lots of interesting information throughout the hike but also allowing us to walk in silence sometimes and just experience the forest. It started to rain lightly at one point, and he was prepared with ponchos for us which was really nice! He also helped us navigate around a tree that had fallen over the trail, which was a bit of excitement. Note: the hiking pole Gustavo offered at the start was KEY for me as the trail became slippery. Even if you're an experienced hiker, definitely consider it because this hike is already challenging and a little bit of rain can make it even harder. Pack yourself a nice lunch and enjoy the views!
