Awful experience! The price doesn’t match the quality of the tour. Happened to visit during a heatwave, we were extremely uncomfortable during the tour as it involved an enormous amount of walking. Not a single adjustment was made due to the heatwave. We weren’t allowed to stop to purchase water nor was it provided to keep hydrated during the tour. When we attempted we were rushed and forced to continue. Food isn’t included yet we were pressured to eat at a specific location and only given 30 minutes for a large group to eat and use the restroom.
We regret that our services did not meet your expectations. Let me address the concerns raised: 1. The center of Rome is not accessible for tourist transport, which is why it is explored on foot. 2. Group tours are not flexible and cannot be modified to accommodate the pace and interests of a single member. If you are not able to follow the standard group pace, please consider booking private tours rather than shared tours. 3. You could purchase water at any location along the tour route, like all the other members did. That is why your negative feedback is the only one received from the entire group. 4. There is no time for a relaxed four-course sit-down lunch. The seven tout hours permitted by your cruise ship visit consist of three hours of transfers from the port and four hours in Rome. This is not enough time to see the main sites, let alone have a restaurant lunch. 5. Nobody forced you to eat at any specific location. The choice in the center of Rome is huge, and you were free to choose any location. When booking future activities with Viator, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the tour description, inclusions, and itinerary rather than on personal assumptions. Safe travels.
Our driver dropped us near a charming, hidden bakery for a quick espresso and pastry, giving us a genuine taste of local life between monument stops. Seamless, elegant, and perfectly executed. They proved that 7 hours is more than enough to create lifelong memories.
Our guide was super friendly and spoke great English. We saw the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, and the Vatican. It is a lot of walking, but we had a small break for pizza and gelato. They brought us back to the cruise ship right on time.
We did the semi-private tour and had a great experience. Transportation was seamless—the driver dropped us off at each point of interest and met us wherever we finished, which made everything very convenient. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout. Highly recommended.
The most frustrating aspect of this tour was the lack of clear communication from the beginning. The cruise port pickup instructions were confusing, although the driver himself was courteous and punctual. Unfortunately, there was a significant language barrier, making it difficult to ask questions or clarify details. The experience deteriorated further once we met the guide in Rome. She greeted our group by repeatedly telling us that we were "very, very late." However, according to the instructions we received, our scheduled meeting window was 9:15–9:30 a.m. We departed for Rome at approximately 9:40 a.m. and arrived around 11:00 a.m. The guide insisted that we should have been there by 10:00 a.m. and continually stated that our delayed arrival was not her fault because she had another tour scheduled afterward. Throughout the tour, the guide provided very little information at the sites we visited—often only a few brief sentences before rushing us along. In many locations, we barely had time to take photographs before being told to move on. At some stops, we were forced to take pictures while walking because she would not pause long enough for the group to enjoy the site. Communication was consistently poor. The guide rarely explained where we were heading next and frequently walked far ahead of the group at a rapid pace without checking to ensure everyone was together. We often spent 20–30 minutes walking without any commentary, context, or understanding of where we were going. To make matters worse, the guide left our group before the tour was completed, explaining that she had another commitment and leaving us with the driver. I have participated in many guided tours around the world, and this was by far the poorest tour-guiding experience I have encountered. Multiple members of our group expressed frustration throughout the day. Rather than addressing concerns, the guide repeatedly blamed the situation on our alleged late arrival and emphasized that it was not her responsibility. As a result, we felt rushed, uninformed, and deprived of valuable time at the sites we had paid to visit. I cannot recommend this tour based on our experience. The transportation was adequate, but the guiding service fell far below expectations and significantly diminished what should have been an enjoyable day in Rome.

We could simply have departed on time without you; however, we decided to make every effort to locate you and enable you to join the tour. Our guides follow a carefully planned and continuous schedule, as Rome welcomes 40 millions of visitors each year and remains extremely busy, even outside the peak season. 4. The historical information provided by the guide is intentionally balanced with information about local life and culture, as many cruise passengers prefer a varied commentary rather than an exclusively historical presentation. 5. Our guides do not participate in the transfers to and from the port, as clearly stated in the tour description. They meet the group in Rome and leave the group there at the end of the guided portion. 6. Our drivers are experienced professionals responsible for safe transportation only and are not expected to provide commentary during transfers to and from the port. When booking future activities, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the tour description, itinerary, and inclusions rather than on personal assumptions. Safe travels.
Well organized and excellent support.
Amazing how much we covered in 7 hours! Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and the Vatican,all perfectly timed. We avoided the huge crowds by using a private van that could enter the narrow streets. Professional service and zero stress about missing the ship.
The transportation saved us so much time, and we were able to see several famous landmarks in just a few hours. Walking through Piazza Navona and seeing the fountains was lovely, and the stop at the Pantheon was fascinating. The guide also recommended a small gelato shop which was a nice bonus.
What an amazing day in Rome! The transportation from the cruise port was comfortable and efficient. Our guide made every stop interesting and engaging. Seeing the ancient Colosseum in person was breathtaking, and the views near St. Peter's Square were simply stunning
Very good expierience. We were walking with the guide through all the most important places in Rome and Vatican. Transfer from the port to Rome and back in the minibus. Planty of information and free time to explore. Comfortable, easy and enough what can be done in one day.
