L'antica città di Efeso era un'importante città greca e romana situata nell'attuale Turchia. Un tempo era un'importante città portuale sul Mar Egeo e svolgeva un ruolo significativo nel mondo antico. La storia della città risale al X secolo a.C., ma divenne famosa durante il periodo greco classico. Efeso giocò un ruolo chiave nelle rotte commerciali del mondo antico e divenne un importante centro per il culto della dea Artemide.
Ad Efeso si trovava una delle sette meraviglie del mondo antico, il Tempio di Artemide. Questa grande struttura fu dedicata alla dea Artemide e la sua costruzione fu finanziata da Creso di Lidia. Purtroppo oggi del tempio rimane ben poco.
La Casa della Vergine Maria, conosciuta anche come Meryemana in turco, è un luogo religioso e di pellegrinaggio situato vicino a Efeso, nell'odierna Turchia. Secondo la tradizione cattolica e ortodossa, si ritiene che in questa casa la Vergine Maria trascorse i suoi ultimi anni dopo la morte di Gesù Cristo. Sebbene la Bibbia non menzioni esplicitamente l'esistenza della Casa di Maria a Efeso, alcuni studiosi religiosi sottolineano passaggi biblici che suggeriscono che Maria visse con l'apostolo Giovanni a Efeso. Il sito acquistò importanza nel XIX secolo dopo le visioni di una suora tedesca, Anne Catherine Emmerich, che descrisse l'ubicazione della casa di Maria a Efeso. Ciò portò alla scoperta di una piccola casa in pietra nella zona, che fu poi identificata come Casa della Vergine Maria.

Our guide, Kaya, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the places we visited, and personable and friendly, as well. The vehicle was very comfortable for our party of 8. They made sure we got back to the port with plenty of time to spare. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone interested in seeing the ancient city of Ephesus and the house of the Virgin Mary!
Had a nice visit to Mary's House. Guide even purchased me a Turkish tea - good stuff. On to a good tour of Ephesus. It was hot, but its July in Turkey. Its supposed to be hot. Went to temple of Artimus ruins. Stopped by turkush carpet shop where we had a demo station of weaving the rugs. All had great commentaries by guide.

Kaya was excellent. He knew so much history and you can tell he deeply enjoys it. He made it fun as well. Would highly recommend this tour Kaya. His passion for history is what makes him an amazing tour guide. He taught us a lot of Turkey culture.

Ephesus was fantastic and the guide listened to us. Our group was small, 9, and we were in a van. The stop at the rug company was very interesting but too much of a pressure sell. The leather stop was way too much pressure with a fashion show.
