Attraverseremo il ponte più famoso (e fotografato) di Dublino, mentre ci inoltriamo nel nostro viaggio attraverso la storia queer dell'Irlanda.
Uno degli edifici culturalmente e storicamente più importanti di tutta l'Irlanda, teatro della Rivolta di Pasqua del 1916. Qui esploreremo alcune delle figure gay che hanno avuto un ruolo fondamentale negli eventi accaduti durante quella fatidica settimana e come vengono ricordate fino ad oggi.
Il palcoscenico nazionale dell’Irlanda; il famoso Teatro dell'Abbazia. Approfondiremo una delle icone gay contemporanee più stimolanti di Dublino, nonché il loro ruolo nel plasmare il panorama moderno del paese.
Qui approfondiremo le tragiche e tumultuose circostanze che circondano la prima parata del Gay Pride in Irlanda, oltre a parlare di uno degli attivisti trans più stimolanti d'Irlanda
Nel college più antico e famoso d'Irlanda, conosceremo alcuni dei famosi ex studenti LGBTQI+ che sono passati sotto il suo famoso vecchio arco, oltre ad esploreremo l'area verde più ampia del college.
Tornando indietro attraverso Temple Bar, esploreremo il panorama in continua evoluzione della Dublino queer degli anni '80. Parleremo di alcune delle persone incredibili che hanno portato speranza e luce a una comunità e conosceremo alcuni dei grandi pensatori e creatori di cambiamento dell'epoca.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the tour with Helena very much. It was very interesting, we got lots of information, and it also felt like visiting a friend. Helena knows everything about the queer community in Dublin and she is a great guide.

We couldn't have asked for a better way to start our day before heading to the Dublin Pride Parade. Helena was a fantastic guide—welcoming, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. She shared Dublin's LGBTQ+ history in such a natural and interesting way, combining inspiring stories, lesser-known places, and the remarkable people who helped shape Ireland's journey towards equality. What made the tour so special was Helena's enthusiasm and passion. She created a warm and inclusive atmosphere, added just the right amount of humor, and made every stop meaningful and memorable. The tour was insightful, moving, and genuinely inspiring. It gave us a much deeper appreciation of Dublin's queer history and was the perfect beginning to an unforgettable Pride Day. If you like short reviews : absolutely amazing, would highly recommend. If you like in details reviews : I am beyond glad I booked this tour. Helena was amazing, she is an absolute angel and her patient goes beyond limits (she answered each and every of my numerous questions). As a historian who wrote two tesis on lesbian history, yes I do have expectations even though I try my best to tone them down when I do tours/visits. Guess what ? I was positively surprised by Helena’s tour and I got to learn many things. This tour is human sized (I was in a group of 6 people + Helena) and the city being flat, this tour is walkable — and I say this as someone with HEDs = chronic pain. I can only recommend !
