Myself and my partner had the most perfect late morning tour of the vineyard followed by carefully selected pairings of wine, cheese, meats and jams. The scenery was incredible, the venue itself was spacious, clean and well decorated. The highlight of the visit for us though was spending time with Claudia who was very friendly, informative and accommodating. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Verona/the surrounding areas, a very enjoyable few hours in a tranquil setting.

Verona was in a travel meltdown - literally as the temperatures were in the high 30s and there were no trains from Verona to Valpolicella! Thankfully the hosts offered to organise separate transport for us which meant we were able to attend the tasting at the house. Claudia our host was just brilliant - she showed us around the vineyards and the cellars and shared a very generous platter and array of olive oils first, followed by some very fine Valpolicella made by the house Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde. And that view too - what a delightful way to spend a half day in Valpolicella 🧀🍷

Me and my friends really enjoyed the experience tasting different olive oils, trying wonderful cheeses and drinking wines from the area! The staff were really friendly and kind and answered any questions we asked. They even gave us specific directions on how to use public transportation and helped us get to the bus stop. Without them, we wouldn't have enjoyed the experience as much as we did. The atmosphere was beautiful and the view of the hills and valley from the winery can not be beaten. It was truly a wonderful experience!

We had the best time at Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde! We booked the olive oil testing and also made a wine experience. Our guide Claudia, welcomed us kindly. Frist of all she showed us the wine fields and told us a few facts about the climate, the soil & differences about the wines in the areas around. By the way, Claudia has a very good sense of humor. Afterwards we walked into the wine cellars. With more historical details of the winery and the process of making these kinds of wine. We sat at the terrace with a beautiful view, for the tasting. We tried 4 different wines, 4 different olive oils, had bread and little italian cookies, the most amazing cheese as well as spicy cheeries (incredibly good in taste) and ended up with a grapa. The wine was excellent. Even if I am not a big fan of red wine, i ended up buying a few bottles because it was so delicious and rich in taste. All in all it was a pleasure to be there, we enjoyed every second. Thanks a lot to Claudia and Nicolas!

We did both the olive oil and wine experience and would go back again if time allowed. We felt like friends, we felt like family, we learned, we ate and we shared. I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our time here! Breathtaking views and amazing wines. Can’t wait to come back again!

Tucked into a bend on a hillside, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, the green doors of Santa Maria Valverde conceal what becomes an unforgettable experience. Our visit began with a short but wonderfully detailed tour, led by Rachel, who spoke excellent English and shared the history and production of the estate with clarity and enthusiasm. This was followed by an olive oil tasting—four or five regional varieties, each with its own distinct character, all explained with care and knowledge. What came next may not happen on every visit—but we felt incredibly lucky. There were seven of us: two Italians, two Scots, and the three of us. The owner’s wife joined us for the wine tasting, bringing with her an assortment of local cheeses, salami, and of course, their family-made wines. As we sat together on the terrace of their 600-year-old home, looking out toward the distant Alps, we shared stories, laughter, and proud reflections on our children. The sun was perfect, their dogs and playful puppies wandered between our feet, and it genuinely felt less like a tour and more like an afternoon spent with friends. On a practical note: there’s wine and olive oil to taste and buy, toilets available, and limited but sufficient parking. Just go with warmth and respect—and if you're lucky, you may walk away with a memory that money can’t buy. Absolutely recommended
