We climbed mt Brandon on the wettest day of the summer. Our guide Kevin, kept us all going with his knowledge and wit. If it wasn't for him, we would possibly not have all made it to the top, but he gave the group confidence and we kept going. I would highly recommend having a leader like Kevin when a group are doing Mount Brandon for the first time. I plan to get back there again but hopefully it will be a clear day.
Walking the land with Kevin is must do in Dingle! Last week we did lovely hike along the Pilgrims Path on Mount Brandon. On the way up we were in the mist and wind which added to the allure of the path. Clouds parted on and off on our way down ,opening up incredible views of the valley and bay. Kevin added a delightful mix of history, lore, and mythology;as well as childhood/family memories to make the whole hike extraordinary.l And one of the highlights of our Ireland holiday.
There were only three of us -- January is not a real busy tourist season. Got to have an extra-long tour (almost two hours) because it was so small. Kevin was very knowledgeable -- excellent stories. Had a wonderful time. Furthermore, I messed up on the payment but Claire graciously got everything fixed without any fuss.
Kevin O'Shea is a fantastic tour guide and incredibly knowledgeable about Dingle history, geography, and folklore. I highly recommend them and would absolutely tour with them again. Their prices are reasonable and well worth it. I did a solo trip and felt completely comfortable.
Our hope for our trip to Ireland was to immerse ourselves in the landscape and quietude of the Wild Atlantic Way -- and this tour with Kevin fit the bill and then some. The gentle pace allowed time for silent reflection along the amazing coastline, as well as time for Kevin to share extensively about the Irish language, history, and geography. His sense of humor and above-and-beyond kindness made us feel right at home. A *million* thanks to him and Claire for helping make this walk happen for us!
My daughter and I had a private guided walking tour - just the guide and the two of us. WHAT A GREAT HIKE! The tour guide was so knowledgeable about the area and the history of the region - as well as fun facts such as movie scenes that were filmed in the area.
Claire did an outstanding job booking our accomodations and managing our tour. She was very responsive while we were in Ireland and helped us with various things that popped up. The tour itself was incredible! Get yourself high-quality rain gear and enjoy the weather, the culture, and the views.
I cannot speak highly enough of Celtic Nature. My daughter and I booked a Dingle Way walking tour in the winter. We were celebrating two milestone birthday - me at 75 and my daughter at 50. I had many questions for Claire over the months as I am a novice hiker and lacked confidence. She patiently answered everything...and provided walking sticks, too. Everything went smoothly - from the pick up and drop off at the train station to all of the bed and breakfasts along the route. I left the walking sticks at one of the b and bs and Claire picked them up and delivered them while we were walking. We met other people who had booked with bigger companies and were so so so glad that we went with a local company. Every host at the bed and breakfasts sung her praises. And so do we! Fantastic experience.
My two teens and I had the trip of a lifetime, intimately exploring the Dingle Peninsula by foot and slowing down the pace of life for a while. The main reason this adventure was so incredible was the thoughtful itinerary put together by Celtic Nature. I am so glad I decided to seek their expertise, rather than cobble together a route myself from 3,000+ miles away. Claire and Kevin are deeply connected to the lands surrounding Dingle. They curated an ideal route for us, tailored to our specific needs and preferences, which allowed us more time to bask in the breathtaking beauty of the area and revel in each other's company. The accommodations they selected were truly lovely, with warm and welcoming hosts at each. If you have time, I also recommend booking Kevin for a bit of history and cultural anthropology, as his depth of knowledge and good humor added to our appreciation of the area. Claire and Kevin are delightful people and I sincerely hope our paths cross again someday. Táim thar a bheith buíoch díobh!
Very interesting information. Enjoyed the Gaelic poetry and Kevin’s excellent knowledge of Irish history.
