La Chiesa Vecchia, soprannominata localmente "Giovanni Storto", risale al XIII secolo e troneggia sopra la piazza da cui inizia il nostro tour.
Con i suoi 120 metri di lunghezza e 50 di larghezza, il Markt è una delle piazze più grandi delle città olandesi. Con la maestosa Chiesa Vecchia e il Municipio su ogni lato, è il cuore pulsante della città. Ogni giorno, la piazza è piena di caffè all'aperto e tantissime piccole attività. Tuttavia, si anima davvero durante le festività nazionali, quando la gente del posto si riunisce per godersi spettacoli di musica dal vivo, bancarelle e camion di cibo.
Questo punto di riferimento unico è stato originariamente costruito come edificio residenziale, ma ora è utilizzato come ufficio principale dell'autorità idrica regionale. Storicamente veniva chiamata la "Casa delle Campane", per via dei suoi fiori a forma di campana che crescevano intorno al portico.

Disgraceful. Guide didn’t turn up. When he was contacted after he was 10 minutes late we were told the tour was cancelled but nobody was told. No refund has been received yet but it is not about the money. The tour being cancelled wasted our time and meant we couldn’t book any other tour on that afternoon. Very disappointing.

Very nice and interesting tour, even for locals. Kiki is an excellent guide. She does not only share a lot of interesting facts but is also very kind and willing to share extra information.
This was a 'free walking tour in Delft. Michel provided interesting anecdotes and history while walking around central Delft landmarks. He was great at engaging all members of the party and kept track of us in the crowded areas. Would recommend.

Entertaining guide. His English was good, but he spoke a touch too quickly. Even I (and English is my 1st language) missed one or two things he said because they were spoken too rapidly, and just occasionally mis-pronounced a few words. But hey! - I don't speak a word of Dutch so I can't really complain! He was very knowledgeable and answered questions quite effectively. My only other slight criticism was he spent just a little too long chatting about where people were from, mixed with some rather irrelevant information. (We didn't get moving until around 1.50pm.) BUT....he did a good job and the walk was entertaining and interesting.

Our guide, a young college student, was on her second week on the job. She was prompt, very pleasant. Her knowledge was fine, some questions she couldn’t answer. But. She. Spoke. Too. Fast. And. Too. Soft. I asked her to speak slowly and louder, to no avail. Her sentences often trailed off at the end. Very, very difficult to understand.
