Il Monastero di San Giorgio di San Nino, chiamato anche Monastero di Bodbe, è uno dei siti religiosi più importanti della regione di Kakheti. Ora, c'è un convento in cui un tempo si trovava il monastero insieme alla Cattedrale di San Giorgio, parte del monastero, custodisce i resti di San Nino, che portò il cristianesimo in Georgia.
La città ha mura del XIII secolo. Il muro ha 21 torri, ognuna delle quali prende il nome dal villaggio o dalla città alla fine della strada che attraversa ogni cancello. La piccola parte è accessibile per camminare e avere viste sulla valle di Alazani.
Nella stessa città visiteremo il museo Signagi, che mostra le opere di Niko Pirosmani. Niko Pirosmani è famoso pittore georgiano, è nato nel villaggio vicino a Signagi. Inoltre faremo una passeggiata nelle splendide strade del centro storico.

We booked this private tour through Temo - a representative of “ Holiday.me “ We were picked up at 10am and reached the Bodbe monastery after nearly 2 hours.The view from the monastery is nice but the monastery is under renovation. Later we drove to see the 18th century defence wall and tower. We then drove to Signagi the city of love having nice architecture and 18th century houses. Our driver and guide, Shoto did not provide us any information on the tour, Signagi city or the Museum. We drove to Kakheti to visi a wine storage and bottling plant. Temo had agreed to show the wine making process in this tour which we found later that it could be seen only in autumn. Therefore, we just had degustation which we could have experienced in Tbilisi instead of traveling so long!!! During this visit we were given no explanation on the history and Culture of Georgia relevant to these places.
Going to Kakheti is an extraordinary journey. We made the transfer in our own car. I can recommend this car as a great means of transportation for tourists.You can take advantage of this offer. We visited Tsinandali- estate of Ilya Chavchavadze. It's a fabulous place. To be there is to take with you extraordinary experiences.Next visited Bodbe and Signaki. In Signaki, the Nico Pirosmani Museum. The journey was beautiful. And back to Tbilisi they returned in a comfortable car, with wonderful experiences.
