La collina della tigre è il punto più alto della zona di Darjeeling. Un viaggio al mattino presto per assistere all'alba è un must. Guardando il sole che sorge colpire il colossale Monte. Costruito nel 1875 da Lama Sherab Gyatso, le sue immagini contente di divinità e lama buddisti, come Chen Rezig il buddista della compassione e Tsongkhapa il fondatore della setta Geluvpa. Il monastero contiene anche o un'enorme immagine di 15 piedi di Jampeyang, il Buddha del futuro. Una grande raccolta di testi liturgici comprende il 108_volume Kangyur, il cannone buddista tibetano.

La pagoda è la più alta struttura autoportante della città, e mostra gli avatar del Buddha vicino alla pagoda è il tempio Nipponzan Myohoji, che è costruito in stile giapponese tradizionale e offre ai visitatori un luogo di pace e introspezione. Il Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (TRSHC), situato a Lebong e localmente conosciuto come Hermitage, è stato fondato il 2 ottobre 1959. Zhu Dan ha fondato questo centro nel 1959 con fondi raccolti attraverso un ente di beneficenza locale (moglie di Gyalo Thondup). Inizialmente, la struttura ha fornito soccorsi di emergenza ai rifugiati tibetani che avevano compiuto il pericoloso viaggio attraverso l'Himalaya verso l'India. It is very difficult to see the vast expanse of Darjeeling, India and its winding and hilly roads without a car, and so the Darjeeling Full Day tour is just what you need to see this beautiful part of the India and the Himalayas. Mr Abhishek organised the tour and my tour guide/driver was Rajat. They were very nice and eager to show you the sights of Darjeeling. You will be taken by car to various temples, the war memorial and Darjeeling Himalayan Railway train interchange, the Tiger Hill observatory, the Darjeeling Zoo, the Happy Valley tea factory, and a particular treat - the Tibet refugee site - where I learned invaluable information on the history of Tibetan refugees in Darjeeling. The tour really does give you a great overview of Darjeeling in one day. I highly recommend it!

Very good experience it can be felt only we personally visit
We had a fantastic full day tour of Darjeeling! Communication was great and we were super excited to see the sites of Darjeeling and we were not disappointed. Our driver host and guide were fantastic and we had easy conversation and camaraderie throughout the day. The tour was super flexible, my sis is a buddhist and i love culture and history so the beautiful monasteries were a real highlight and the guys very kindly added extra monasteries to our itin and as we werent so into the cable car ride, we just swapped that piece for monasteries. Our guide was so knowledgeable, so dont skip that opportunity, well worth the price. The car was in great condition and comfortable and the driving expert. We had a Fantastic time! One highlight was when “Hotel California” played on the car radio, suddenly two young Nepalese/indian men in their early 20’s and two American/Canadian 60 year old ladies all sang all verses together- a small world indeed. Do the Tour!!!
