Il primo giorno di sosta sarà dedicato al museo della civiltà nera, a Piazza Indipendenza, alla chiesa cattedrale, alla vista sul mare dell'isola di Goree e al mercato di Kermel. Un'ora sarà dedicata al movimento attraverso questi luoghi. (su richiesta), avremo tempo per il pranzo in un ristorante tradizionale a "la pointe des Almadies", noto anche per i frutti di mare per 40 minuti. La seconda metà della giornata sarà dedicata alla scoperta del monumento del Rinascimento africano, la moschea della divinità. Su richiesta, dedicheremo 1 ora allo shopping tessile e artigianale. Il tour termina con il rientro al tuo hotel.

La stazione ferroviaria di Dakar è uno dei capolavori più belli dell'architettura coloniale, la sua facciata è di una bellezza ammirevole. La stazione di Dakar fu costruita nel 1885 e collegava la città di Dakar a St Louis, serviva anche Dakar-Niger, che permetteva di raggiungere Bamako (Mali), in 36 ore due volte a settimana. Decine di migliaia di bersaglieri provenienti dal Sudan, Dahomey o dall'alto Volta (attuale Burkina Faso) passarono da questa stazione per essere imbarcati sui fronti europei. 1857 e sciolta all'inizio degli anni '60) la stazione divenne rapidamente il centro ferroviario più importante di tutta l'Africa occidentale; fulcro dell'attività cittadina; punto di transito per noccioline, gomma arabica, cotone, cola, posta e migliaia di viaggiatori. Inaugurato il 6 dicembre 2018, è stata un'idea portata nel 1966 durante il primo Festival Mondiale delle Arti Negre a Dakar da Léopold Sédar Senghor, primo presidente del Senegal, di creare un museo che rappresentasse le storie e le culture contemporanee del mondo nero. Il museo è costituito da un edificio circolare ispirato alle capanne impluvium della Casamance ha una superficie totale di 15.000 m² su 4 livelli, di cui quasi 5.000 m² di spazio espositivo sono dedicati alle civiltà africane. Un luogo di incontro di civiltà e di dialogo tra culture. Il Museo delle Civiltà Nere è un segno emblematico della civiltà, dell'identità e della promozione della memoria africana. Il museo ha chiesto il rimpatrio delle opere d'arte africane, dato che fino al 95 per cento del patrimonio culturale africano è custodito al di fuori dell'Africa dai principali musei.
Il mercato di Kermel è un edificio in stile coloniale riconosciuto come patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO, edificio molto bello del 1860 che fu distrutto da un incendio nel 1994 e ricostruito identico nel 1997. Il mercato di Kermel è ancora ottimamente conservato. Puoi vedere molti colori vivaci all'interno e all'esterno dell'edificio. Il mercato offre bellissimi prodotti freschi, tipici del Senegal. Ortolani, droghieri, macellai e pescivendoli sono al centro dell'edificio, circondati da decorazioni di venditori, artisti e artigiani.
La place de l'independence è nel cuore pulsante della città, sede di maestosi edifici coloniali tra cui il Ministero degli Affari Esteri che fu il (tribunale dell'Africa occidentale francese) il Governance (ufficio del governatore francese) e la Camera di Commercio . La Cattedrale di Notre-Dame-des-Victoires o Cattedrale di Africain souvenir è la chiesa più grande di Dakar e la sede degli arcivescovi. Si trova in Boulevard de la République nel quartiere Dakar-Plateau Costruita negli anni '30 e consacrata nel 1936, la Cattedrale dell'Africain souvenir spicca nel paesaggio di Dakar con il suo impeccabile colore bianco. I materiali scelti sono stati importati da diversi paesi (Sudan, Gabon, Tunisia, Benin, Francia) per un risultato piuttosto sorprendente con varie influenze. il monumento del rinascimento africano inaugurato nel 2010, questa gigantesca statua in rame alta 52 m accessibile attraverso una scalinata di 198 gradini, lo statuto offre una splendida vista della penisola. è l'Africa che emerge dalle viscere della terra, lasciando l'oscurantismo per andare verso la luce, l'uomo, la donna e il loro bambino affronteranno il sole, a simboleggiare l'apertura del continente al resto del mondo. È la seconda statua più grande nel mondo che può essere scalato dentro. Al piano terra, una proiezione di diapositive che descrive la storia della costruzione del monumento e un affresco che ripercorre la storia dell'Africa e dei suoi grandi personaggi. Al 3° piano, una piccola sala per mostre temporanee. Al 4° piano, il salone principale. Al 15° piano, siete nella testa dell'uomo e godete di una vista mozzafiato su Dakar e sulla penisola.
Questa moschea si trova a Ouakam, un villaggio di Lebou. Costruito dal maggio 1992 all'ottobre 1997 sulla Corniche occidentale di Dakar, sotto la raccomandazione di Allah (swt) tramite Mohamed Seyni che ha ricevuto le descrizioni. Tutti sanno che per ogni guida, Allah (swt) gli ha concesso un luogo di meditazione dove può pregare senza disordine. Quella di Mohamed Seyni è questa moschea chiamata Masdjidou Rabaani (Moschea della Divinità). L'ingiunzione divina avvenne nella notte in sogno quando Mohamed Seyni vide la moschea nel cielo. Gli fu ordinato di guardarla e seguirla per vedere dove sarebbe atterrata. La moschea gli era apparsa come un tappeto. Quando fece il giro, vide scritta sulla porta di destra la parola Allahu Akbar (Allah è grande) scritta in lettere d'oro.

Our tour guide Gousshou picked us up on time at the port of Dakar. He spoke English very well, very knowledgeable of the sights he showed us - market, mosque, museum, corniche, government buildings, and more sights than enumerated in the itinerary. He gave us time to enjoy the sights especially at the Monument of Renaissance as we waited a long time to get into the museum. The monument was the highlight of our tour. Glad we patiently waited for our turn to enter the museum which occupied the first 3 floors of the monument and chance to take the elevator to the head of the man in the monument. Our driver was great too, very skilled and careful driver. Our tour ended exactly at 7 hours and was brought by our guide and driver back to our port in plenty of time. Very highly recommended.
Below average tour and aggressive tour operator. I learned nothing i could not have read from a cheap book. The guide just drove around and sat at the Museumm and the Memorial. The clothing market was a rippoff. A guide was not secured at the Museum and the tour guide just sat there while my friend and I visited. Then he proceeded to argue that I owed him 20,000FCA because my friend met me at the Museum. He refused to accept the fact this was nit a guided visit. He became very aggressive and we settled for half the price. I do not recommend this tour company to anyone.
I am very sorry to hear about your negative experience with our company. It is disappointing when things do not go as planned while traveling. This trip was booked for a single person and during the tour you asked for your friend to join you for the rest of the trip and we agreed that you would honor the extra and invited her to visit the museum together which allowed us to buy the two entrance tickets at our expense which is why I made you pay half of the 20,000 CFA as your friend did not continue the trip with you. The fact of not having an official guide at the museum is not within our competence as this day there were many visitors especially groups of students according to the internal regulations the official guides will take care of the groups rather than just two visitors. If you felt ripped off by the fabric seller it is almost not my fault you were free not to buy and besides I had informed you that in Senegal the prices are always negotiable. I hope that your next trip will be much more pleasant and stress-free!
Great tour around Dakar in a very comfortable car with aircon. We were able to adjust timings as required and ask lots of questions since the guide was knowledgable and spoke English. Very friendly, great day, would definitely recommend

Poor organization for pickup, wasted an hour. Traffic and traffic everywhere. Jeep in traffic for 2-3 hours!! We expect to sight-see, not to see traffic. English speaking guide was pleasant but everything we saw in the museum was in French.
They did not have enough guides so they combined 3 groups. They did not notify us ahead of time so we could make a decision if we want to contine with the tour, also did not offer a reduce rate because of the change. We wasted 50 mins of tour time because they told the other 2 groups to meet at the exit of the port and we were driving around in circles looking for them.
This was a fun day with a nice guide and nice van. I would recommend this tour. Most museums are closed mondays, but the guide worked hard to get us around to other sites.
