What a fantastic day sail with Captain Dan and Kate! Captain Dan and Kate were fun and informative. We met some lovely people, sampled local treats, local beverages and enjoyed a gorgeous afternoon sail. I highly recommend!!!
A fabulous day on Lake Michigan. Even though the winds were light, we enjoyed the sail, the refreshments, the camaraderie. Watching Captain Dan and First Mate Kate mange the ship - coiling the lines and flaking the sails like a "wind dance" - was a true delight to us aging sailors. Add to that an interesting geological review, great conversation, and a couple of margarittas - well, truly a great experience!
Dan and crew were great! We loved the sailboat. The bay is beautiful to be on. I helped to put the sails up!
Amazing time with captain Nate and Kate. Both were very knowledgeable and great sense of humor. It was my first time on a sail boat and they made me feel comfortable and secure. The drinks and snacks were a nice addition. I would highly recommend and will return for their pontoon rental with our kids.
What a magical way to spend an afternoon! This 2.5-hour sail aboard the 63-foot schooner was the highlight of our Traverse City trip. Captain Nate and his first mate Kate were a fantastic team — skilled, attentive, and full of personality. Watching them tack us across the bay was genuinely mesmerizing; you could tell they both know this water and this boat inside and out. The refreshments were a wonderful touch — beer, wine, cocktails, and soft drinks, plus a beautifully done locally-sourced charcuterie spread. Between the gorgeous scenery, the breeze in the sails, and great company on deck, it was pure relaxation. If you’re looking for something special to do in Traverse City, don’t miss this sail. Nate and Kate made it unforgettable — five stars all around!
My wife and I absolutely loved the cruise with Wing Dancer. It was very relaxing and the captain and crew provided good service.

Our Wind Dancer day cruise was a wonderful experience! The staff was professional but fun, friendly and inclusive. It was a picture perfect day in every way. The food was thoughtfully presented and delicious using many local vendors. It couldn't have been a better experience. Thank you Wind Dancer!
Upgraded to the sunset sail. It was an awesome trip around the bay. Great crew was attentive and informative. Will definitely return to sail with them in the future.
There were 8 people on our excursion. Captain Nate gave us instructions and we set off. Some of us got to help hoist the sails! It was peaceful and amazing what the wind can do, no motor, just the wind! We talked, had a snack and drinks to your liking. It was wonderful and I'd do it again!
