Ostia Antica è un grande sito archeologico, vicino al moderno sobborgo di Ostia (Roma). Alla foce del Tevere, Ostia era il porto marittimo di Roma. È nota per l'eccellente conservazione dei suoi antichi edifici, magnifici affreschi e imponenti mosaici. Se si desidera trascorrere una bella mattinata in tour fuori Roma questa è una buona opzione. Questo tour privato si concentra sull'importanza di Ostia durante l'impero romano. Ostia Antica è un grande sito archeologico, vicino al moderno sobborgo di Ostia (Roma). "Ostia" in latino significa "bocca", infatti la città si trova alla foce del fiume Tevere. Si trova a circa 30 km a nord-est e anticamente era il porto dell'antica Roma. Come abbiamo detto prima, Ostia Antica era il porto di Roma, ma a causa di una interruzione e di un abbassamento del livello del mare, il sito ora si trova a 3 km dal mare. Il sito è noto per l'eccellente conservazione dei suoi antichi edifici, magnifici affreschi e mosaici impressionanti.

Seeing how everyday people lived was amazing. The kitchens/restaurant and baths we're incredible. A great site if you love history. Guide was informative and driver pointed out sites of interest on the way. If you go in the summer bring water, hats, and wear sunscreen - you'll need it.

I highly recommend this trip to any history enthusiast. Ostia is amazing and so much bigger than I imagined. You will experience the actual complete city, not just one house or temple. Our guide Nadia was wonderful, so personable and very much into her subject. Thank you Nadia. We also had a great driver Luca who gave useful tips on the way back, very much appreciated!
