Itinerario

Gutted that I'm having to leave a 3 star review! It was a 4am till 2am the following day long trip and 8 hours if this was spent at the airport. We did go to cairo and saw the pyramids but it was quite rushed and we didn't get any free time to look round. We saw the sphinx which was amazing. The guide then took us to some famous churches and temples which were not part of the itinerary. We never went to khan el khalidi. Lunch was nice - buffet style. The guide and driver did make us feel safe all day which was nice. There was way too much pressure to buy camel rides, papyrus (from a factory) and oils/perfumes (also from a factory) again not part of the itinerary. Viator advised us to book an evening river cruise with dinner and entertainment due to us having a late flight back (11:50PM), they even sent links for us to book which we did for 40USD but on the day the guide told us we couldn't go as the boat gets back around 10:30pm so we would miss our flight back. He arranged a felucca cruise instead but we had no dinner and no entertainment, and nowhere to even stop and grab a bite to eat and I'm diabetic so this was a huge concern for me. We were then dropped back at cairo airport 5 hours before our flight. When we first booked this trip, we asked if we could have an earlier flight back to hurghada as I'd seen one online departing at 8:50, I was told this was not possible as it was a "fake flight". When we got to cairo airport, there was in fact a flight departing at 8:50 that night. We paid £500 for this trip for 2 adults but we thought it's once in a lifetime, let's just go for it. Unfortunately viator ruined it for us. We could have done this trip twice over with another company for the same price with no problems. I want to do luxor next time but certainly won't book with viator!
Treated like a VIP the whole entire day.. been to Cairo on bus trip before but did not compare. Knowledgeable friendly guide Mohammed Ibrahim and happy driver couldn’t do enough for you..all pickups drop offs even airport ran seemlessly. Packed in so much to the day everything we wanted with no wasting time in hard sell shops. Can’t recommend this trip enough 🤩 Was worth every single penny and more 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I must start off by saying I would 100% recommend booking this trip. When it says private tour it is litteraly just the party you book with, which we were surprised about which made the day a lot better from the very start. Transfer from hotel to airport in morning was seamless, flight to Cairo was easily managed all the airport staff are friendly and will point you in the right direction. When arrived in Cairo was greeted immediately by our guide for the day “Andrew” straight out of walking out of departures who could speak very good English that was clear to understand and communicate with. The driver for the day was welcoming and friendly, he even made fresh Egyptian coffee at one point during the day which was nice. On travelling from the airport to the pyramids our guide passed numerous information on the area inbetween the airport and the pyramids. When at the pyramids great attention to detail was made on getting the perfect pictures and making sure we didn’t miss any information opportunities whilst also diverting any issues with local hagglers before they even became an issue. All day you could tell Andrew had a true passion for the facts behind ancient Egypt and was always accommodating to any questions we had. Andrew ensured we completed all of the set itinerary without compromising on quality and it was a truely enjoyable day with him and the driver Mohamed. The guide and the driver made the perfect team. Only criticism would be food choice on the tour you get taken to a local Egyptian restaurant buffet which if you are like ourselves “British and fussy” this isn’t food we would touch however hats of to Andrew he was more than willing to try to accommodate other solutions for us once he realised the issue. We had extra time at the end and even had time to stop off at a local shisha lounge before the return flight home which was nice. The transfer back to the airport was seemless with clear instruction given again. When landed we were met at the terminal door and transferred back to our hotel to finish the day. I must say both me and my partner are fairly physically fit and both were very drained at the end of the day there is a lot of walking and terrain to tackle, if you have any mobility issues this isn’t a trip for you! One negative that did irritate us both slightly was on the return transfer once back in Hurghada the transfer guide specifically requested us to tip our transfer driver, now bearing in mind this is a £400 trip already and we had already tipped both the tour guide and the tour guide driver what we feel to be quite well *which was well deserved* this did irritate us quite abit especially after a long day as it was for a simple transfer that was included within the price anyway, it may sound petty moaning however to be asked for it felt a little insulting especially when the actual guide for the day and driver for the day in Cairo we were with showed no expectations or pressure of any form of tipping. All in all I would 100% recommend this trip it is a once in a life time opportunity without a shadow of doubt. If booking defiantly specially ask for Mohammed (driver) and Andrew (the guide) you won’t regret it!
Very enjoyable but long day seeing all the main sites. Our guide, Yousef, was extremely knowledgeable and spoke superb English and showed us things and described things that you would miss if travelling on your own. Our driver got us close to all the entrances and exits to avoid long walks in the hot sun and no need to queue for tickets. Only criticism would be the unscheduled trips to a papyrus shop and an essential oils shop which weren’t listed on the itinerary and were basically opportunities to fleece tourists. Once you said ‘no’ they were quick to leave you alone but it wasted an hour of the day which could have been spent seeing more of the city. The timing of our trip in July meant it was searingly hot, so probably best go when cooler between Oct-March.
A brutally early start meant that we arrived in Cairo before 6am. We were met by our guide Mohammad and headed straight for the pyramids. We were the first tourists on site and had the great pyramid and Khafres pyramid to ourselves. The Egyptian Museum and Coptic Cairo were also really interesting and brought to life by the encyclopaedic knowledge of Mohammad. The tour is not cheap but it is good value and if, like us, you have the pyramids to yourselves, the experience is priceless.
We had such a great time in Cairo. Good timings and lots of interesting facts. Our driver and guide were both excellent, especially on such a long day! Would recommend to anyone!
Amazing day. Thank you to our tour guide Mahmoud Ismail he was very interesting and informative. Visited the Great Pyramid, Spinx, the museum where Tutankhamuns treasures are, a lovely local restaurant with Egyptian cuisine, a few local specialist shops and a few religious buildings too. We are a family of 4 with a 3 year and didn't get any trouble or pushy sales people. Some do try to sell you things but do take no for an answer with no pressure. We were at the site of the great pyramid as it opened so we're able to go inside (small extra cost) and climb up with a 3 year old in arm, with relative ease as it wasn't busy. Great day for anyone and its very nice that it's a private tour, that you can ask and choose what you'd like to do.
